Hose keeps popping off

We just returned from vacation. Left the pool pump and chlorine generator on a timer. Things were a bit dirty when we returned but seemed fine. Since we returned, the hose from the pump to the filter has popped off 3 times. What could be causing this? We've never had this problem before. How can we remedy the problem?

How is it attached? We have several members with that pool, so they may answer before I can, but sorry I can't suggest something without being more familiar.

Clean and dry both connections and tighten the hose clamp.

Have you changed your hoses lately? If not, I would buy a new one.

Mine kept doing that so I hard piped it with PVC. Problem solved.

I woud say, clean well (with maybe isopropyl alcohol) both inside of the hose and the fitting, and tighten the clamp. If the fitting is too tapered, maybe find another one.

And, oh, check the pressure, maybe time to backwash.

You could try double-clamping the hose also. The increases friction would probably prevent it from coming off.

Definitely double clamp. I came home to find one of my hoses came off---not fun to put 4-5 inches of water back into your pool from a 525' deep well.
Learn from me. Double clamp, check periodically, or hardpipe.

Thanks for all the responses. We have backwashed, checked the pressure (good), cleaned the hoses with rubbing alcohol AND double-clamped. It's been 24 hours and so far, so good. Next year I think we'll look at hardpiping it. Now we just need to get the water clean. After 2 weeks of vacation and a non-working filter system it is filthy.

If it does happen again, try using denatured instead of rubbing alcohol. It will take the glaze off the plastic so it'll grip better.

I use dry (lab grade). Laquer thinner is good too.
Do not use acetone, it dissolves plastics.
