If you have a heater, limit the number of tabs in the skimmer to 3. After three days backwash again to see how much iron was caught in the filter.

No I don't have a heater and haven't used any algaecide this season or for that matter any season. Source of water was/is city water.
I wanted to thank everyone for the tips and advice. Just an update as I travel all week for work and just got back home late last night.
On Saturday last week I added 26 lbs of baking soda to my pool. so this morning, I tested the water. I now have 70 TA, 3 FC, and 7.5 PH. So I'm figuring I will add around 6 to 9 LBs of baking soda to bring TA up to around 100 and I should be good to go. Also the green tint I mentioned above was temporary. It is now chrystal clear again after back flushing the filter and adding new DE.
