I have a Hayward SWG control that is displaying 2500ppm and is indicating "Check Salt" and "Check Cell". When I test the salt level with the Taylor test kit, I get 3200 ppm. The sanitizer level is dropping (down to 1-2 ppm the last two tests from a previous level of about 5), but I don't want to add too much salt. The water is beginning to look like it might be clouding. It's a 30,000 gal in-ground vinyl pool. Any suggestions?

Maybe the cell needs cleaned. At any rate I would manually at chlorine asap. Sounds like an algea bloom might be on it's way. Hard to know without all your test results. At the very least I would double your target FC with bleach now.

As BBBliever said, get some chlorine in there right away.

It is time to do a manual inspection of the cell. If there is any white crusty stuff on the cell plates the cell needs to be cleaned.

You can also have those same symptoms when the cell is nearing the end of its lifetime. Cells typically last three to five years, though it can be shorter or longer than that in some cases.
