I purchased a gizmo with attachment to blow out my lines. My skimmer has two openings in the bottom that are eccentrically placed. The gizmo's neck is not long enough to allow it to screw in as the wider part of the gizmo hits a plastic rim that is too close to the return opening. I don't have a pool store near me. Is there some sort of threaded extension that has a male and female end that will raise the gizmo an inch or so? Why would there be two openings? Do they come from the factory like this or did my installer drill the holes? Fortunately we haven't had many nights below freezing and the days are around 50 degrees but I am getting concerned about properly winterizing.

If you could post a picture of the skimmer openings that may help us figure out what you need.

I'm out of town until Tuesday. I will get photos asap. I was afraid that this was an odd situation.

Finally got around to photographing. I did not expect to have all of this water in the skimmer with a solid cover. It got below freezing a few nights last week. Now I'm really worried about possible freezing damage.

What are the odds of cracking having occured and what can I do now with gizmo? I did just pour rv antifreeze in the skimmer.

Thanks,
Dave

They make a 'skinny' version of the gizmos. You should be able to use it if not then just pour some antifreeze into the pipes.

You have passed the OCLT when: 1)You lose 1ppm or less FC overnight, & 2)You have .5ppm CC's or less, & 3)your water is clear.
