OK....so I toughed it out this Summer with Baq and developed my back muscles brushing nearly everyday to fight off the algae. Tried all the new hyped additives (CDX, etc.) and am convinced that conversion is the only way to go. Pretty sure I know how from all the great posts, but I want to wait until Spring. I stopped adding Baq two weeks ago and am approaching 0 ppm - keeping water clear with potassium persulfate shock (seems to work - there is no bather load). Any suggestions? Also, when I convert, I expect problems with my Hayward Perflex (finger-type) DE filter. Seems as if few posters use this device. Works great, but it is super efficient and I expect it to gum up almost immediately from the goo. Any experience out there?
