I don't really have a way to drain. I was going to just put the water hose on the pool floor and let it rip. The overfill drain leads to the back of my property. I assume this will work? How else can I drain the pool?

My CH level was 410 last year. Now it is at 460. How high is too high? What are some ways to bring this down. I tested the refill water and it is 210. The PoolCalculator says to refill 63% of my pool water. Any other ways to do this?

I will test again this week and repost my results of whether time affected the readout.

Thanks for all the responses. I learn something with every post! When I do backwash, they gave me this cup from a DE bag and told me to add 10 of them (apprx 10 lbs) of DE. Is there any guideline to how much I should add?

Any suggestions? Pool Builder says every 4-6 weeks. If my pump pressure hasn't increased, do I need to backwash?

I buy my bags of DE from the Riverbend Sandler pool supply store. Is there a difference in DE? Thanks. Mo

Water flows the entire time the pump runs from 9am to 9pm. It smells really bad.

miketriton, i live in parker, tx right down the road and have the same issues. My CH is at 410 and I can't seem to get it down. I have read to try and keep CSI in the negative to reduce future scaling. Do you also have issues with keepin PH steady? I have 50ppm of Borates as well.

We noticed a bad smell around where the scuppers shoot water out. Is there a way to fix this? It smells like a mix between rotten muddy grass and animal excretion. We don't have any pets! Please help!

I bought 3 25lb bags of 100% pure Boric acid from DudaDiesel. I have 1/2 of a 25lb bag left. Where can I store it? I have an outdoor plastic shed with DE and MA, each in a separate plastic tub with lid. Can I store it there? I live in Texas and it gets easily over 100 in that shed. Please...

Thanks! I am adding the Boric Acid now. It says 67 pounds for 28K pool. I have 75 pounds which will get me to 55 ppm. I figure a bit more wouldn't be a bad start with the heavy summer swim season. Thanks for all your help. I am fully BBB now!
