Intelliflo3 VSF 3hp - Brand New and LOUD!

This is an incredibly basic very old pool. One skimmer, two returns, plumbing level with pool. Nothing else other than the newly added IC-60.

Intelliflo3 VSF 3hp - Brand New and LOUD!

Ok. Absorbing lots of info. I had extensively researched these pumps but was mostly focused on choices and configuration. And all my TFP reading was theoretical so it didn’t compute til I could see it in practice. Thanks for all the input and information. 50 GPM is almost 80% (per the app...

Intelliflo3 VSF 3hp - Brand New and LOUD!

Turns out I was wrong about the programs. 50GPM and 20GPM (apologies to pool pro!). I backwashed (pressure had climbed from 12 to 22 in the two days since installed at pool opening). Dropped decibels to 72 so not much improvement.

Intelliflo3 VSF 3hp - Brand New and LOUD!

I’m trying to upload video and being totally unsuccessful. Will have to go figure that out and then I’ll get some uploaded. (Says 3 mbs is too big)

Intelliflo3 VSF 3hp - Brand New and LOUD!

My family would probably say yes 🤣 But this really is annoying. No way would anyone enjoy sitting around the pool listening to a vacuum cleaner for hours. Just for grins, I took my vacuum cleaner outside and checked the dbs. 75 right at it, just like the pump is 75 right tested right next...

Intelliflo3 VSF 3hp - Brand New and LOUD!

I keep reading that these pumps are so quiet you have to touch them to know they’re running. Mine is 70db (via a couple different apps) and audible clearly from way over 100 feet away with a rather high pitched frequency. Sounds rather like a vacuum cleaner and is easily that loud. I’m...

    Pentair Home App Connection Issues

Aaaand, of course! Post your problem and immediately figure it out. Turns out it was a setting, just not the BT off/on setting. It was the Privacy/Bluetooth/Pentair “switch”. I’m thinking it got turned it off when I initially installed the app and answered some questions about privacy —...

    Pentair Home App Connection Issues

I wish I could get to that step!! My brand new Intelliflo3 vfs just keeps telling me to turn on my Bluetooth. My pool pro got connected; I can’t. Tried upgrading my iOS, too. Might have to go the good ole reboot route….pump, that is….to see if that encourages it to find my phone’s BT signal...

Need a little bit of "Pumps", "SWCG" and "Everything Else" help!

Thank you, everyone! Things are underway, with a VSF 3hp pump, an IC-60, power center, temperature sensor and an Intelleconnect. I suspect the VSF is a supply issue thing (as opposed to a VS) and since the cost seems to be comparable, I'm not gonna ask. I've been asking a lot! :) These are...

Need a little bit of "Pumps", "SWCG" and "Everything Else" help!

Another question - is the temp sensor required if you don't have a heater? I ask because in the heater section, the manual says: "Wiring a Heater or Heat Pump Water Temperature Sensor -- When connecting a heater to the IntelliConnect Control and Monitoring System, a water temperature sensor...

Need a little bit of "Pumps", "SWCG" and "Everything Else" help!

Thank you, everyone! Yes, Missouri... and, yes, my pool gets closed for the winter. And, Bill, that info is very helpful. I did the same.... called Pentair directly. I wonder if having to add the extras to the Intelliconnect (Power Center, temp sensor, ??) ends up pushing it into the...

Yeah... after I posted, I discovered the new way of doing profiles! My old "text" profile was gone :). It's been a while since I've posted!

Need a little bit of "Pumps", "SWCG" and "Everything Else" help!

I'm in desperate need of replacing my single speed pump on my very basic, 40 year old, concrete block pool. We have no intention of adding anything to this pool, as we'll be moving on from this house sometime in the next 10-12 years and just had the liner/walls redone. Signature below, but...

Money Pit, Part 2 - We really need to renovate!

Thank you so much for responding. I've been trying to catch up with my husband to discuss all this some more. 1) Re: installing precast coping - We have absolutely no experience. I'm guessing the issue is installing the coping in a nice, flush, even manner. 2) Re: Decking possibly...

Money Pit, Part 2 - We really need to renovate!

I'm hoping to gather opinions and ideas about the best way to proceed with our money pit, because we're getting closer to having our hand forced with a liner failure. I know this is a lot of info; I'd be ever so grateful for any input. We've been thinking about all this stuff for the past two...

Dane's "How To" for a quick & easy pool cooler

Just a quickie update to give kudos to my husband! I think he blanched when he saw the original marking scheme in this thread, so he came up with his own. He took some small gauge wire we had (not sure what it's called...probably 1/2" squares.) He wrapped it around the pipe and did a quickie...

Dane's "How To" for a quick & easy pool cooler

I was going to post my attempt, but FramerTim's is much better. Mine is a T out of the wall horizontally, with one elbow on the left with a valve and the return jet, and then the other elbow to the right, but straight up with the vertical fountain. The only thing, then, that I can contribute...

Bizarre Pool Edge - Breaks Leg

We have the same situation, but with vinyl-covered wood, and are facing the same dilemma. In our case, our concrete deck needs attention, too, so we've got that added complication. (And, BTW, our pool and house have the same name!!!! And other not so nice names, too!) I wonder if replacing...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak Yup...during the repair, water was coming at a pretty good clip back thru the return, from the pool, even though the winterizing plug was installed. The return pipe comes straight thru the wall. If it has a tee off it, it's not...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak There's nothing on the pad that I can see. In the prior pics in this thread, what you see is what you get. Of course, the age of this thing is probably 40 years, so old lines may have been capped off. I am trying to get pics....very sunny today, and made...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **New, weird leak** It's baaaaccckkk! ok....it's cousin is back! I looked in the hole the other night for no particular reason. The ground was wet. Even weirder, the wall to the right of the return was wet. I let the sun shine on the deck all day, to try...

Caution!!!on buying cheap prices on bleach at Discount Store

Re: Caution!!!on buying cheap prices on bleach at Discount S You folks inspired me to call my local pool store, because my recycling bins get too full! Me: Do you sell chlorinating liquid? PS: <pause> Like for Baquacil? Me: No. Liquid chlorine, 12.5%? PS: Ummmm.....I don't think...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak **Update Question** While we have the deck open to the back of the wall at the deep end, is there anything we can or should do to enhance our pool? Can we add lights to the pool? Anything else that would be useful, cool or nice? (I realize we should have...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak Yup...I was going to try to post pics, but I'll get to them later. We did it! The guys worked until 10:50, racing the midwest storms (we're in KCMO). We never did figure out why water kept coming back THRU the return piping, even when plugged. We let things...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak It's really straight thru the wall. We're talking 6-8 inches in from the pool, out the other side. The other side of the cut pipe comes from the south return and the pad. I wonder if we should be trying to replace the pipe in the wall while things are open...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak I had assumed fixing liner leaks was part of the fee. I should have clarified with him what I'd end up with. Last year when we had liner leaks fixed in October, the $150 fee included finding and fixing. I just assumed that was standard practice. Of course, we...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak Oh, brilliant idea! And, even if we can't save the concrete, it may be a good place to test pavers and our ability to lay them. We should be fine with the depth of the pit, as luckily we're at the deep end here. Now, if we could just find an easy way to find...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak *Update* Leak guy came Wednesday. My husband was there for part of the visit. For $295, we now have 4 pencils marks on the pool edge identifying a liner leak somewhere below that mark, and a note that there is a return leak on the west return near the pool...

Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak - **Update - New Weird Leak**

Re: Money Pit, Part 1 - The Leak I'm back. Still waiting for the leak detection folks. However, I had something happen last weekend that reminded me why I cancelled the detectors last fall. Last Saturday, I filled up the pool and started the pump. I ran a hose for two hours to keep ahead...
