    Pumps wont start after repair

Took multimeter - was getting 120v at each breaker but not 240 across the two. Replaced the breaker not giving me 240v on that BUS and bingo, back in business. Thanks all

    Pumps wont start after repair

Thanks for the quick response. Both timers are 240v. I am using a fluke voltage indicator (the type that turns red when voltage is detected). The one pole failure would make sense in that there would still be voltage from the other pole. I do have a multimeter, but did not have it with me...

    Pumps wont start after repair

Yesterday I replaced the motor to my booster pump, Polaris PB4-60. I have a breaker panel feeding two intermatic timers, one for the pool pump and one for the booster cleaner pump. While the pool pump was running, I just turned off the breaker feeding both of the intermatic timers. The pool...

Pentair Mastertemp 400 Combination Gas Control Valve Issue / Question

Thanks for your reply @ajw22 - I was able to clean the contact and see all of those post were connected. I put the contact on the middle one and it fired right up. The pool service company wanted $400 for a new valve and $200 for labor. Seems anyone who works on this widely used heater would...

Pentair Mastertemp 400 Combination Gas Control Valve Issue / Question

Hello Everyone - I discovered my heater went out and called a local company to come take a look. Turns out, I've been hosting a mice hotel in my heater and they effectively have somehow chewed on where one of the electrical connections connects to the Gas control valve (see arrow in pic). My...

Thanks Caco. It's going well, looks like I'm in the clear. Losing less than 1ppm over night and water is clear as can be. Letting it drift down to normal chlorine levels now. My PH was good pre slam so should be good there. Going to need a refill on my solutions after all this testing!

"You don't need to worry about CYA <dude> if the water looks clear". Agree?

Re: "You don't need to worry about CYA <dude> if the water looks clear". Agree? I can tell you from a person going through a SLAM process right now, CYA matters. I let my CYA levels get high (unknowingly), water was clear (could see the phillips head screw on the drain), tested water weekly...

Just wanted to post an update and new #'s. On Saturday I replaced 50% of my water and started the SLAM process. Numbers below. My PH is high, but pool school tells me PH is inaccurate during SLAM, when should it be accurate again? I know my SLAM FC is high for my CYA (I got a little carried...

Thanks Splash. I just tried the diluted method for the CYA and got 118, so it's definitely high. Also checked my FC again and it's up to 12 since I added shock and what bleach I had on hand last night(obviously not high enough for slam level). I'll wait to pump some water out then bring to...

Looks like I can get my hands on a pump tomorrow or Sunday. Should I go ahead and bring it to slam levels today? Then drain half tomorrow or Sunday and go from there? Or just wait and drain/refill and go from there? Also, we've had quite a bit of rain lately. Is it safe to drain half...

Thanks everyone. Went ahead and threw 20oz of 73% hypo in with a good brush to bring up to slam level. I did not use the dilution method yet, will try that tomorrow morning.

Blaze, looking good! Houston here too, South Bay did my gunite last week as well. If you don't mind, can you post some pics of the coping when they're done? We're trying to decide between the OK Wistor or travertine coping. Would love to see yours when done. Also, what stamped concrete...
