    skimmer install question

Currently installing a hayward widemouth skimmer onto a curved section of a pool. The skimmer mouth is not curved, but the pool wall is... I'll actually be tightening this until it flattens the pool wall around it, correct? I shouldn't expect any visible gaps around the skimmer on the outside...

    Flip-Plop?

Saw this at Ace Hardware last night. Flip Plop Any thoughts? I'm just finishing construction, so I haven't actually started the TFPC method, although that's what I had been planning. I am tempted by this as it does sound extremely simple, although reading the manual shows it's a little more...

Urgent question - top rails and top stabilizers

Quick update. Said to heck with it, and just installed the screws. They didn't actually penetrate the top stabilizer, rather just pushed the plate upward slightly. It's only a 1/2-inch screw, so it didn't raise it all that much. Still slightly disconcerting with the top plate not being...

Urgent question - top rails and top stabilizers

Uh oh... Any idea if your "inner" screws are penetrating the top stabilizer?

Urgent question - top rails and top stabilizers

Sorry, changed gears and was smoothing out wrinkles in the liner for the last hour plus... Woody, that's correct. Here's a pic. The hole's on the right side of the plate are over the top rail.

Urgent question - top rails and top stabilizers

So I'm assembling my top rail on my oval pool. I start with the straight side, no problems. I go to attach the first top rail on the curved side, and the hole alignment has me concerned. The instructions say 4 screws per top rail, 2 per side. The outer hole on each side is no problem. The...

Installation Sanity Check - When to fill?

Thanks for the replies, but the original question was more geared towards whether you can fill a pool with an incomplete wall system?

Installation Sanity Check - When to fill?

So I just need a quick confirmation on filling an AGP. I'm assembling the pool in my sig. I'm at the point where I'll soon be ready to install the wall. Soon after, the liner... Under the liner instructions, step 19, it discusses only filling the pool part way before you cut out the return...

    Newbie suction inlet question

Hey all, Still in the process of assembling my AGP, and ran into a question.... The pool wall has cutouts for the skimmer and a single return. Thus, my plan was to have 1 suction inlet through the skimmer, and 1 outlet through the return. In reading the instructions for the Hayward SP1091WM...

Comments on pump/filter choices for small AGP?

Thanks Bama! I was kind of curious what the 1HP single speed would do with such a small pool. Will it feel like river rapids, or nothing so noticeable?

Comments on pump/filter choices for small AGP?

Hey all, Still in the process of grooming my site and slowly assembling my AGP. It's an 8'x15' AGP (roughly 2800 gallons), and I'm trying to make up my mind on pumps/filters. I'm mainly looking at cartridge filters due to they seem to be recommended more often for smaller pools, and I'm a fan...

Using top rails to identify post locations?

Thanks for the info. In case relevant, the pool is an 8'x15' cameo from the pool factory.

Using top rails to identify post locations?

I'm just getting started with my first AGP install (8'x15'). In reviewing other threads on how to get started, I noticed some people recommend assembling the top rail and use it as a guide for determining the site layout and where to place the paver blocks. Seemed like a good idea to me, so I...

Small above ground pool purchase advice

Great info so far! I'm located in Maryland since somebody inquired. As for the signature, I have no idea how that got there. I didn't add it, and have never had a pool that size. My only experimentation to date has been an 8' intex for the kiddies....

Small above ground pool purchase advice

Hello all, I'm looking for recommendations on an aboveground pool package prior to purchase. Pool: looking at 2 options, both are 8' x 15' x 52". Odd size I know, but it's as big as I can accommodate on my lot. My pool location is bounded by a 3’ retaining wall on one side, and a ground level...

building an ABG adjacent to a retaining wall

I've got a very difficult yard to work with, and I need some help going forward. First off, I've got a pretty steep hill that slopes upward from the back of the house. Roughly 1 in 6 slope. I recently decided to make a cut into the hill to provide some flat space for a playset for the kids...

above ground pools and septic reserve areas?

My reserve area consists of my current active septic (leach) field, plus additional area set aside for a future field(s) if my current field ever fails. It's a little frustrating because there are older homes with septic in my area on lots that are a quarter of the size of mine. I'm all for...

above ground pools and septic reserve areas?

Anybody have any experience with this issue? I live in a county where they require ABGs to have a permit. I have a 0.6 acre lot (sloped up from the house) with a 10,000sf septic reserve area. This is pretty much my entire backyard, and the general rule is no construction on the reserve area...
