    Unicel C-4607 - Intex A/C

Canadian Intex type A or C filter users rejoice! $16.94 CAD taxes in out the door from the local pool store! This is in connection with another thread on TFP: http://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/25516-Never-buy-INTEX-type-A-filter-again It definitely can be purchased in Ontario.

Help i need a fence around our pool!

Look up your municipality's specific protocols, if it's not made code compliant, it could be a real headache. Self-closing, self latching, 4' high chain link is what a lot of pool owners do in my neck of the woods.

More is less with solar heat?

Based purely on feel, when the water passes through the mat, it's brutal weak.

More is less with solar heat?

The pool filters will be side by side, connected by a short length of hose and appropriate clamps. Is my pump sufficient?

More is less with solar heat?

Do I need a superior pump (currently 1,000 GPH cartridge filter pump) to see better results?

More is less with solar heat?

I have an Intex Easy Set 12'x30" AGP and 1x Intex Solar Heater Mat (model no. 28685E). I have the 1,000 GPH Intex pump. Right now, it appears to give some improvement to the temperature of the water, but would two of these mats in a series essentially double the results I'm currently getting...

    Intex Sand Filter, 3000 GPH

Does anyone have a review/recommendation on the Intex 28651EG 3000 GPH sand filter? I have an Easy Set 12' x 30" and would like to use a sand filter instead of the 1000 GPH 637R that I "upgraded to". My intex solar heater mat appears to really slow down the flow, basically to a trickle, and...

My new pool slab has a 5" slope - ugh

I think that warranted a follow up question or two on his part. For example, what may be code compliant for a patio (slope) is downright dangerous for a pool (unlevel pool could lead to collapsing pool/dangerous situation for anyone anywhere near it). Has he done pool work before?

My new pool slab has a 5" slope - ugh

Qualifying your customer is job #1, job #2 is execution. Were the words "pool" and "slab" near eachother anywhere on the document? I'd even go as far as to say that you believe you're in a contract law actionable position if there were enough specifics in the bid.

My new pool slab has a 5" slope - ugh

...arguing fine points of engineering and installation with your customers just isn't a good marketing or retention strategy. Did he say when he'd be coming back to fix the slab?

    Intex pool pump question

I think the biggest reason that Intex can't be held accountable is that every situation is going to be different, and they don't care. Big picture, most people at most times are going to be at least somewhat satisfied with their product and won't speak up about it - or they won't know any...

    Found - intex "adapter"

I went to the local pool store today and found Intex 1 1/4" non-threaded adapters which should work perfectly for hooking up to a larger, better pump and sand filter :) Shopping local has its advantages, everyone there was great - I'm hoping this'll help anyone else looking to move away from...

That's a detail that I wasn't aware of, maybe I should be sticking with my "hold your contractor accountable" viewpoint on this...

My new pool slab has a 5" slope - ugh

Obviously I spoke out of turn, 5" seemed like a lot of slope to me. I still think there may be some value of reaching out to him and just seeing if he had any crafty ideas which could save a lot of stress.

My new pool slab has a 5" slope - ugh

The contractor may not have to tear out to deal with the slope, but did you get anything in writing? Is it a legit business or is it more "pay cash, no invoice" kind of deal?

My new pool slab has a 5" slope - ugh

One of the biggest challenges I've ever gone through as a homeowner was attempting to create a brick sand level base for my Intex Easy Set AGP. Get your contractor back. If you told them it was for an above ground pool, it shouldn't have been sloped 5" diagonally - or at all.

    Intex pool pump question

Right. And there's zero accountability or corporate integrity. Their tech support is beyond abysmal.

Krystal Clear model 637r filter pump

I upgraded from the 530 GPH intex to the 637R for my Intex Easy Set 12' by 30". I have a solar mat heater connected inline which naturally slows down the flow. I dislike the filter pump strongly. It's flow rate is just woeful. This adapter... http://www.intexcorp.com/10722.html - adapter B...

    Game SandPRO versus...

I own a soft sided 12' x 30" round Intex Easy Set above ground pool. The 1,000 GPH pump I use with it in connection with the Intex Solar Mat Heater is woefully inadequate and gives horrible flow. I have a couple of fairly local options: SandPRO .5 horse pump and filter...

    Intex pool pump question

I recognize our situations aren't really similar, but I upgraded to the 637R from the 603? Intex Krystal Clear pump and the flow rate still sucks. I have an Easy Set 12' x 30". I'd recommend getting the biggest sand filter pump system you can afford, particularly with planning to upgrade.

    Intex 1 1/4" non-threaded...?

Potentially a better question to have asked might have been why is the flow rate for my pool filter pump so abysmal, and what filter pump system would be an improvement over the 1,000 GPH intex 637R filter pump I have, that's still reasonable on a budget, but is also "intex compatible"?

    Intex 1 1/4" non-threaded...?

I'm fairly confident that many of the forum posts re: Intex pools don't address the (new?) non-threaded intex connections. I have 1 1/4" hoses with black rubber washers on them and hose clamps as opposed to the threaded connections I see referred to in the sticky. I have an Intex Easy Set...

    yerkel

I have been the semi-proud semi-satisfied owner of a horribly self-installed Intex Easy Set 12'x30" which I replaced the filter pump for almost immediately (moved from the 530 GPH Krystal Clear to the 1,000 GPH Krystal Clear. I blogged about it. I don't think it's great writing, but I think it...
