    thanks.....i forgot to add it was for a tagelus sand filter. i happen to be takling to a guy a the mall today and he has a tagelus, screens down!! sometimes it pays to go shopping with "her majesty".

    thanks for the replies........tha's kinda what I ws thinking. i think i will put about 2' of flex hose where the connections meet the pool and hard plumb the rest. any suggestions on flex line?

    i am upgrading to a sand filter and pump. i will be using 1.5" pvc with ball valves on the return and skimmer sides. my question is ......do i need to install a section of flex hose on each end since the pool is a soft-sided intex pool? or will I be ok to hard pipe the whole system? 18' x 48"...

    questions about sand filter operation....

    ahhh......just took my filter to a local pool supply shop only to find out the follwing...... it is a Tagelus filter that hold 160 lbs of sand. all things functioning proberly. lets hope it lasts the rest of the summer until i can get another pump.

    sounds like fun to me lazyman... :party: i plan on using it for the remainder of the year . i am on lay-of so to get a free pump is a great deal. i plan on buying a new pump next spring. thanks to all who chimmed in, I really do appreciate the input.

    so I talked to someone at a pool store and was told that the waterway hi-flo pump doesn't actually have 1.5 hp like the tag says unlike the hayward pump that they say was true to their label. what?????? :hammer: anyone have any insight as to htis claim of true h.p.?
