Suction Side Air Leak at Base of Skimmer

We cut the incoming water line, and unscrewed the connection, and there is indeed a crack at the top of the connection. I was told this would be incredibly unlikely due to it being underground, but this is a 40-year-old pool, so perhaps end of life for some of these parts. Off today to get parts...

Suction Side Air Leak at Base of Skimmer

I was shocked as well. We replaced the black box and cover next to the pump and the above ground connections to the box before calling the pool company to come out and pressure test. After pressure testing, they decided the leak was under the ground and that the desk would need to be torn up to...

Suction Side Air Leak at Base of Skimmer

I have a 40,000 gal in-ground pool, and, after much work and replacing of parts, we have determined there is a suction side leak at the connection at the base of the skimmer. Now that we've smashed up a bunch of concrete and dug a hole 3 feet deep, we're at a loss as to how to actually replace...

    Disappearing Chlorine

I am in Lilburn, GA. My results are the same as the store using a Taylor test kit branded as Leslie's Total Poolcare DPD Test Kit. I am losing 3 ppm in chlorine in 24 hours. Is this normal?

    Disappearing Chlorine

Any suggestions if I cannot run the pump overnight? The pool is surrounded by large oak trees that drop bundles of leaves into the pool, clogging the basket and spiking the pressure dangerously high when not monitored. It's not a problem during the day, as I empty the basket 2-3 times, but would...

    Disappearing Chlorine

Thanks, Tim! The test kit is Leslie's Total Poolcare Test Kit per the sticker on the box, but all the reagents inside the kit are Taylor brand. The pool looks great - crystal clear, no issue with algae at all this year. We (four people) are swimming in it daily and more people (closer to 10-12)...

    Disappearing Chlorine

Help! I've been using this site as a reference for a couple of years to much success. This year, I cannot seem to keep Chlorine in my pool. Readings are as follows (and have been confirmed with testing at home and at local pool supply store): Ph: 7.5 TA: 100 Calcium Hardness: 30 CYA: 30 I...
