Slow drip at multiport valve connection - not sure how plumbing is attached?

The other end of that pipe is a union atop the pump, so I might be able to disconnect there and rotate the entire assembly to unthread it. But, your point is well taken! A union in there would certainly make future disassembly much easier!

Slow drip at multiport valve connection - not sure how plumbing is attached?

I did a little digging online to identify the MPV itself and found it on Amazon. It does look like it definitely has 1.5" internal threads, so it seems likely that the plumbing is threaded in. The question is just what sort of sealant/adhesive was used on the threads. Thanks again for the replies.

Slow drip at multiport valve connection - not sure how plumbing is attached?

Wow, good eye! I didn't even think to look up the part number for that part ... bonehead move on my part. Definitely appreciate that. Given the minor nature of the drip, I do think I'm inclined to wait and see for now and tackle this later in the season when I close. But, you've definitely...

Slow drip at multiport valve connection - not sure how plumbing is attached?

I was afraid that would be the case. And, yeah, the drip is very minor. I'm absolutely okay with leaving it as is for now and tackling it later if it isn't an easy fix. I just wanted to try and gauge what I'm in for ASAP and plan accordingly. That's the main reason why I just took photos rather...

Slow drip at multiport valve connection - not sure how plumbing is attached?

First off, many thanks to everyone on this forum. I have learned so much and resolved so many issues with info from this site that I can't even count. This year, our plumbing appears to have developed a couple of slow drips where there are PVC connections to the multiport valve atop our sand...

    Liquid chlorine/bleach deals

I noticed the closed thread just now and wondered why as well. I was going to reply that the info posted for Indiana also goes for Ohio, since both Rural King and Menard's have stores in Ohio with the same deals: Rural King stores: $9.99 for 4 gallons of 10%. Frequently on sale for $7.99 and...

Thanks for the link. I have already, in my vast two months of pool ownership, run into differing opinions on the mineral system. That had already started raising red flags there. Not knowing any better, we did put a fresh cartridge in it when we opened the pool and have been keeping the FC level...

I added the pool info. I guess my signature doesn't magically show up on older posts, though.

It's a LaMotte ColorQ Pro 7, according to Amazon. I bought it based on the good reviews and the digital readout. The engineer in me is not satisfied with the precision of comparing colors! :-) Will do! Thanks for the replies.

My family and I recently moved into a house with a ~1.5 year old 18x36 inground pool. It's not very deep, so roughly 20k gallons. We opened the pool ourselves (with help from this site, YouTube, etc.) and started the season taking water samples to the local Leslie's Pool Supplies store...
