When is your water too cool for a dip?

Too true Alice... Hopefully now many days ahead of sunshine! I have moss growing around some of my downspouts. I've never seen that in Texas.

Putting a new face on an old friend - PICS!!!!

Nope, that is purely lucayan blue. I've been "told" by our contractor that he used a very dense mixture of aggregate within the plaster/lucayan blue. He "said" many companies will mix in very little aggregate to rip-off the home owner. I don't know if that affects the final pool color but we...

When is your water too cool for a dip?

So, as we draw into the cooler time of year, I use my solar panels to generate some warm water for the pool. Living in sunny Texas that is easy to do. But, how low will you allow the temp to go and still get into your pool?

Does CYA sit on top of pool water?

Thanks Guys! I thought that was a bit wrong. He does like his local pool supply company but he is also very intelligent. I just have to think of a way to slowly get him off their "ways". However, they did simply give him a pump late one day and told him to return it early the next morning...

Does CYA sit on top of pool water?

A buddy and I were talking and I mentioned CYA. He said his had climbed too high (approx 100) because he chooses to use pucks in his inline chlorinator. I AGREE. He then said he had to go and rent a pump to sit on his top step to pump off the top third of his pool water because that is...

Living in Texas and having a solar heater, I still have several weeks, if not mos of pool season... heh... But, 1 week of rain did run the water temp down to 78... YIKES... freezing when I got in... But, hopefully, the sun will come out soon to make it a better experience! :whoot:

Am I missing something or is my local pool supply confused?

Try going into Leslie's and asking for CYA. That alone had the kid giving me a "blank stare". The manager quickly came over and showed me to the product. He said he was afraid the kid might think "Cover Your Rear" and make a rude comment LOL!!!

Possible damage to pool masonry... pics... help

That was my thought, but,...... the PB.... has quit... LOL! Believe it or not, he waves the white flag and admits his inability to correct all problems (the list is quite long).... He has agreed (as of last night) that he is on the hook financially and will pay an outside company to fix all...

    Builder used too much salt...

Understood, and have always used chemistry for aggregate. I simply thought that the term "liner" meant any liner for the pool, i.e., vinyl, aggregate, etc....

Possible damage to pool masonry... pics... help

LOL!!!! My apologies... you see what happens when you use good chemical to test/treat your water, it becomes too clear. :goodjob: The entire "seats" are under1-1.5 feet of water. They are "ledges" and allow you to sit in the water and hold an adult beverage without your arm getting wet...

    Builder used too much salt...

Sorry? Does the term "liner" automatically mean vinyl? My original question stated River Rok liner, i.e., river rok is an aggregate "liner". SOrry, didn't mean to confuse. It is an aggregate/plaster ... um... finish? liner? LOL.

Okay So our newly rennovated pool has been wet for 4 weeks & 2 days. Basically, after 2 weeks & 2 days of water in the pool, he dumped in 550 pounds of salt. After 2 weeks, I checked the pool water with the TFP-100 test kit and some salt test strips and found the glaring error. I have...

Okay So our pool with its new RIver Rok liner was 2 weeks and 2 days old when our contractor decided to dump in 550 pounds of salt. Our pool is probably 10,000 gallons. This is toooo much salt! It was in the water for approx 2 weeks until I bought some test strips and realized his mistake...
