    Clorox temporarily?

I was advised not to use Clorox but I just got back into town and the FC is 2.5 and I can’t get to the store to get liquid chlorine before an afternoon get together. I do have Clorox bleach. Can I use that just for today?

I haven't cleaned the filter yet.....is that the problem? I will clean this weekend. I run the pump at 2200 rpm at the advice of the builder because of the water feature. Is that ok?

Thank you! I was going crazy trying to download and then trying to navigate the TFP site cuz I remember adding our pool to the new pool math at one time. But I figured out it was on my iPhone and I thought it would sync to my Mac. Ok, will make an effort to get to HD today and get more cyanuric...

    Remember.....the husband finally...

Third day in a row that I lost FC 5 ppm during the day but less than 1 overnight. pH is back up to 8.2 but I think that is from the water feature being on all day. FC is 10ppm so maybe the pH reading is inaccurate. Is it ok to add muriatic acid daily? Or should I add more than prescribed? I'm...

    Remember.....the husband finally...

Yesterday was the second day in a row that I raised the FC to 10 ppm at dusk and lost 1.0 FC overnight and my FC dropped to 5 ppm through the day. Only husband and one friend in the pool yesterday. Sunny with a little rain in the afternoon. I'm trying to update my Pool Math log. Thanks for your...

I'm a little confused with your answer. Is my Target Range the 10 ppm or the target based on CYA as per FC/CYA Chart (6-8 based on my CYA of 50)? Is this correct: Add Muriatic acid now to lower pH Test at dusk and if FC is at or below minimum (based on above answer) add more liquid chlorine to...

My husband is in there every day, but somedays its only him, but I don't know because I work and he's retired. Should I do the FAS-DPD test every evening before dusk to see how much FC is lost in the day?

    Remember.....the husband finally...

Good morning. At 8:00pm FC = 10.5 At 5:30 am FC = 9.5 FYI I brought the FC up to 10.5 (and double checked it 30 min later). I think it might be the sunlight and use that is causing the FC to drop? It went from 11.5 (yesterday morning) to 5.5 at dusk. It was a HOT, SUNNY day from the get go and...

    Remember.....the husband finally...

Yeah, I'll do it again.....only correctly this time. I will test at sundown and if the FC is at 10 ppm or below, I will add acid to lower pH. Then I will add chlorine if necessary to target FC of 10ppm. Do I have to wait after adding the acid? This time I will wait an hour to retest FC. Our...

Good morning. OCLT done and it looks like I didn't lose any chlorine overnight. HOWEVER, having said that, it looked like I gained chlorine by 1.5 ppm. I think I might have tested too soon after adding chlorine last night and didn't get a correct reading of the ppm (waited 30 minutes)? But can...

    Clear water, still losing FC?

I am no expert for sure, but this sounds so so much like my pool in reno. We did it all, SLAM, scrub out everything light fixtures, drain, EVERYTHING. Then one of the TFP experts said it might be ammonia. I got an ammonia kit from the pet store and sure enough way high. Once I treated for...

Unfortunately we built the pool first and a lot of cut grass, dirt and sawdust got into the pool. Grass from the lawn that used to be around the pool. dirt from excavating around the pool in order to pour concrete around the pool to get rid of the grass, and sawdust from the outdoor bathroom...

Thank you all! I think I got my specs and location updated. Will go to HD to get liquid chlorine after work and do overnight chlorine test tonight. I will bring the FC to 10 ppm at least 30 minutes before sunset to do the overnight test, bueno? and the FAS-DPD FC test is the Chlorine Drop test...
