Possible trouble with Pentair MasterTemp 250

Thanks, @RDspaguy I don't see a flame sensor when I search for MasterTemp parts. Any other names I should search under?

Possible trouble with Pentair MasterTemp 250

After a call in to Pentair service, I *think* the issue is the Thermal Regulator. Regardless, mine looks pretty corroded, so I am replacing. I hope this is the fix.

Possible trouble with Pentair MasterTemp 250

Also maybe a High Limit Switch failure?

Possible trouble with Pentair MasterTemp 250

I forgot the mention that the "Heating" LED is lit while humming/hot exhaust and blinking otherwise.

Possible trouble with Pentair MasterTemp 250

I just fired up my propane MasterTemp yesterday. Things don't seem right, but I am looking for some additional insight on what might be happening. The heater fires up (basing this on typical, deep hum and very hot air coming out of the exhaust pipe), runs for 20-30 seconds, then seems to cycle...

What did you do to your pool today?

Opened on Monday, and that is (by far) the earliest I have ever opened the pool here just north of KC. Water is only 56 degrees, so won't be in it for a while, but I have it cleaned, and ready to go. I think the chemistry is in good shape, but I am going to take some water in to have it double...

    IC40 Intermittent Flow Switch...

I have a nearly identical issue with my IC-40. Nearly four years old, worked perfectly in past seasons, flow light intermittently comes on now. I was leaning toward changing the sand on my filter. This has never been done, and I am thinking it’s more likely than a failed cell. Any way to gain...

Adding solar heat to a gas heated pool

I am exploring the idea of adding solar heat to my gas (propane) heated inground pool. Several questions: - What are the pitfalls with this setup? I would like to tackle the install myself, but if there are complications with the combination of the two, I will just look at professional...

pH high, but draining soon. Should I adjust?

Our pool was just completed and filled last weekend (Sept 26). We have a problem with the pool bottom that will require draining and repair, but that will not happen until we are closing for the winter. That almost certainly will be after next weekend. Our pH has been high since we filled, and I...

Just put my deposit down (North of Kansas City)

What is "cold"? I don't think we are waiting a month to close up shop. But it might be two weeks. Temps will likely be in the 60s for highs.

    Who's still swimming?

It was 85 here today north of KC, and the kids had friends over. Of course, we just got the pool finished this weekend, so there is a lot of pent up demand. The weather will not last, as the 10 day looks terrible. We won't get much more use before closing it down and waiting for spring.

Just put my deposit down (North of Kansas City)

I do, but it's reasonably cheap. The water we lose through this will probably be less than $50 - $75. They fixed the return...took about three minutes. I held back a substantial portion of their last payment to make sure it gets fixed.

Yep...drain, pull back the liner, fix the poolcrete and refill. At least it can wait until we are ready to close for the season.

Just put my deposit down (North of Kansas City)

Now the bad... On Saturday, while the PB was onsite, the electrical wasn't working. My electrician came out on Sunday and got it all straight. The PB had given me instructions on getting the pump running, and so I did. All was fine. However, after an hour or so, I realized the water level was...

Just put my deposit down (North of Kansas City)

First the good: we swam all weekend, and just had a great time. The heater hasn't been plumbed into the propane tank yet, so it was pretty cold. But, the weather was in the mid-80s, and the kids didn't care. The PB is back onsite today to perform a couple clean up items, and make cuts in the...

Just put my deposit down (North of Kansas City)

It's filling much faster than I expected. We are well over half way full, and we have only been going about 30 hours now. I think we will be close in the morning. Here is a pic from this morning: And, here are a few from around sunset:

This seems like a silly question. Are three hoses off the same house better than two? Seems like the flow has reduced significantly with the third hose. But I thought I read that adding lines will speed things up even off the same main line.

After I thought he was installing the liner tomorrow, the PB surprised me today. We are filling. Will post pics tomorrow. Too dark to get anything good now.

We plan to heat it up and enjoy as much as we can. Nights are getting down to 60 and even lower now. Days are still in the low 80s though. I am sure it will change quickly now.

Pool crete is finished. I will post a pic or two when I have them. I am traveling for work this week so I am waiting on the inbound text messages.

Liner is delayed until at least Friday...and my week is ruined. Funny how a couple days of delay at this stage are worse than a couple weeks delay before we started.

Thanks for the nice comments. We are pretty excited. My wife and I even sat on our loungers today next to the empty pool for a few minutes just to try them out.

Pool deck and walkway are done. The plumbing is completely done, and the mechanical pad is installed. The pump/filter/heater are all set, and ready to go. The pool bottom is completely shaped (completed on Wednesday), but rain has moved in. So, pool-crete on Monday, Tuesday to cure, Wednesday...

They poured the second section of deck yesterday. One more concrete pour from the pool up to the house, and then FINALLY on to the pool crete.

That's what we are thinking. In fact, you can see the stack of unused stones in a few of my pics. They are basically where they won't have to be moved far to be installed in the next wall. It will be around 200 sq ft installed (that's how they bill on the walls). So, it will be a lot smaller...

Just put my deposit down (North of Kansas City)

I tried to upgrade the pump, but the parts were already on site. The pool builder wasn't having it. He has been a bit inflexible on stuff like that. I think his supplier is rigid on when products walk out the door. The PB has been flexible on everything else. I just wish he was here EVERY day...
