Setting up a pool for the first time starting tomorrow afternoon. It is the Intex 18'x48" ultra frame. I currently have no testing supplies. Will be going to the store tomorrow. Would like to start the slam process saturday after the pool is set up, obviously.

I know the TF-100 is the recommended around here but having spent a considerable amount of money I am looking for a more economical kit. I have been eyeing this poolmaster 22260 5 way test kit and wonder what yall think for a good starter kit.

I would just use tfe paste with ptfe if it will be coming on and off. Grab a tube and store it with the fitting. Stuff works great. Just make sure you get the non hardening kind.

Yes, I have seen this done and have debated it. I was hoping to use the original hoses to minimize the cost of PVC. The thing that makes me believe that there is an adapter that will work is the first post. If not I will hard pipe the entire system.

Well it looks like the guy from the first picture found an adapter that would work in the electrical PVC department so I am going to see what I can find before I spend $11 on a fitting. Already spending enough on this thing already. A pool that was on sale at walmart has already doubled in cost. :D

Also in the first picture. The fitting that connects the original hose to the pvc. It looks to be an electrical conduit fitting. Can someone tell me what part this is?
