I moved the spa's booster pump to the pool/spa filter and heating side to keep it clean and still heat the spa...

YUP! 9/18/2008, so probably installed 2009 spring. Is 11 years long for a pump? Spa pump is exact same pump and both pumps look in great condition from the outside. Thanks for the guidance.

bought the house 4 years ago, no clue how long before then it was replaced. The pump still has a pretty viable sticker on to the side, enough to read the pump serial number and such.

    replacing light fixture

That water is cold still in NJ! should be easy to stick a pump in the hot tuba and toss the water in the pool, pull the plug and the hot tub will fill back up in minutes once the work is done. I am not floundering around in that cold water wrestling with the light and putting the two drain...

    replacing light fixture

yes, I have valves to stop/redirect the flow between pool and tub. But what I want to plug is a hole about 4-5 inches across and about 3-4 feet long that goes from my hot tub to my pool a about 2 feet below water level. To pull light cord and install drain covers back in the hot tub I want to...

    replacing light fixture

Need to replace the whole light and housing in my hot tub. Before I jump in and end up doing things the hard way I had a few questions. 1. for the pull line to attach to the cord, some poly pull line adequate or is there something specific suggested? amazon: Klein Tools 56108 Poly Pull Line? 2...

    Multiport valve hiss

had air leak in jandy valve, new seals fixed it. I prime great now, but I loose prime slowly when pump is off. I listened carefully and hear a hiss coming from the top of the multiport valve (pentair 2' DE). I am going to replace the spider gasket. Anything else I should replace while I am in...

    Name That Chair

Try contacting the cruise line. These days service companies bend over backwards for client requests like this, especially when it can help them with future business. My mother had an odd request to a cruise ship years ago about bar soap they provided, did wonders on my brother's skin... then...

New plaster - fill with well water?

After too many hours of trying to figure out this problem we solved it, and the most inexpensive way possible. We strung a bunch of hoses together to reach a neighbors house that has good city water. Will cost us $175 ish in water vs all the other options that would have been well above a grand...

New plaster - fill with well water?

Swampwoman, THANKS! I am working out the details and will update. So far some trucked in and the rest with a 3-stage filter looks like the solution (three Big Blue 20-inch filters in a series. Sediment - Iron- Sediment ). What a headache!

New plaster - fill with well water?

I spent some time talking to different water delivery companies yesterday. Since the water treatment plant near me is closed for maintenance the rates are up, big time. It is over $500 per 6500 gal, one guy was $600. Never thought the refill would be my biggest head ache. Pentair makes a...

New plaster - fill with well water?

Just dug out the Examination of Water that was done by a lab when we bought the house. Iron came in at 0.3. I read somewhere that that any higher and you don't want to put that in the pool, that is the top of acceptable range. Pool store told me my reading on Iron was fine, but then I found the...

New plaster - fill with well water?

Thanks, onBalance. Question on that: The pool and tiles (those that were left) were spotless and the pool tiles are well over a decade old. If the sulfur content was too high wouldn't all the filling and topping off over the years result in those sharp crystals? Lot of learning being done here...

but it won't stain new plaster, right? I've read up a ton sulfer heavy water in the pool and think I'll be ok. Thanks for the knowledge.

New plaster - fill with well water?

Yup, we have two spigots that get filtered and a branch before the filter that gets two more hoses, a laundry sink, and sprinkler system. All sources of water tested and passed- no metals or calcium to be concerned with. The only reason there is a softener is because of sulfer, egg stink in the...

New plaster - fill with well water?

I wasn't aware pool stores test for metals, thanks for the heads-up. Brought sample and Well water tested good-no metals. Builder is doing the start-up, not the one using acid. My neighbor has city water that is pool-good, his hose is the back-up fill method if I have problems. I had read...
