    Aqua color

Good morning. Do you have test results you can post? We need to know what's in your water in order to help. Remember, to follow SLAM properly, it is not over until your Combined Chlorine is less than .5ppm, your water is clear, and you can pass an overnight Chlorine loss test. SLAM means to...

TFP Methods Tried and True. Thank You!

Went on a business trip last week. We had storms everyday while I was gone and my wife didn't even go out back for a few days, so she didn't notice the GFI had tripped because of the excessive rain and lightning. When she noticed it was off, she called me and I walked her through resetting the...

Great looking pool/set up. Congrats on the new stuff.

Almost above ground pool owner. Help put my mind at ease about cooling the water!

Do it! A sun sail will help. read pool school here and learn how to take charge of your own pool management. You will empower yourself and save money. Plus, you will know exactly what is in your pool and why. A fountain can help cool your water (but can raise pH thru aeration), but with properly...

Help!! Cut hole too big for my wide mouth skimmer in my intex pool!! Freaking out!! $4000

When I installed my pool, I literally missed almost every screw from the skimmer faceplate to the body of the skimmer on the back. I.e. the screws were not engaged in the skimmer on the outside. When I detached the faceplate and skimmer to re-attach, I noticed the liner had slipped and was...

Winter Mesh Cover. Is this normal?

Thanks! Yes we Love it out here in the country. Built the deck ourselves and the view is amazing.

Winter Mesh Cover. Is this normal?

I drained the water about 4 inches below the return. That's about 17" below the top of the wall. Instructions said between 14" and 18". Before the rain it was fine. The leaves would sit there nice and dry and simply blow off with the wind. Now that it has rained, the water has pulled it down to...

    So, normal or not? Anyone?

Winter Mesh Cover. Is this normal?

So I am using a mesh cover for the first time. Every time it rains, the water takes too long to drain through so it weighs it down and makes it sit in the water. Is this normal? I have it stretched so tight, it is tearing around the grommets. It just seems like this is not what it should be...

    Pool green no bleach available

I agree on the pucks! good call. I am building this myself. It's been a a ton of work, but I am literally saving thousands! Plus I like doing things on my own. The feeling of pride and accomplishment is unparalleled!

    Pool green no bleach available

Y'all were right. No bleach anywhere, but Wally World had 10% sodium hypochlorite- at least 30 bottles. LOL. Glad us pool people have our own language. I picked up 14 bottles (hopefully that will get me thru this slam).

    Pool green no bleach available

I'm running into this now. I just started working on mine yesterday. Got the pump hooked up and running. too cold for SWG and I could only find 4 gallons of bleach in my area. 4 gallons and it was clorox brand. almost $5 a gallon. i just don't know what to do now except keep the pump running...

first winter with new AGP in north Texas

This is basically what I did. I'm not worried about algae since the water is staying below 60. And if we get a freeze, it's usually not a deep freeze and only lasts for a few days. I let the SWG run until the water temps were below 60. Then I drained down 6" below skimmer and return, drained the...

    First year winterize, two issues

I broke mine down taking the hoses and the pump inside garage. left the sand filter out there. Just drained the water, removed the plug and the multi-valve and covered it with a tarp.

    Aquatrol RJ Controller Serial Number

    Thanks James. I found it.

    Aquatrol RJ Controller Serial Number

Anyone out there know where to find the serial number? I have a controller that has completely stopped working after 1 season. No lights, no pump control, nothing. I can hear a low hum when it's plugged in, but other than that, nothing. I looked over the entire unit and couldn't find a serial...

    Looking for a new pool

If you do want a new pool, we just put one up this year. Its a Venture Resin pool for Salt water in my signature. We Love it. Of course this is our 1st season, so I can't speak as to how it will hold up over time.

    Another leak thread...

I agree with Pv2. How much water are you losing? Even if you could keep it half full, you'd be better off than trying to brace the wall some how. I just can't imaging the increase in your water bill would equal or surpass the cost of replacing the whole pool if the wall caves in.

    What's your current pool temp?

We've been in the 90's all week with mid 90's forecast for the weekend here in NC. Water temp just under 80 (I get a lot of shade and it's been in the 60's at night). Looks like at least 1 more weekend of pool time! Bosley, I can't even imagine....

Any recommendations for ABG pool base?

I did a sand base, Gorilla pad, then 1/2" foam board (that I got for free form a friend). And don't forget the cove. This was our first summer with a permanent pool at our new house. We Loved it. Temps still in the 90's here for this weekend. One more Weekend of pool time!

    Partially Burried AGP

They don't recommend burying an AGP unless it is specifically made for that purpose. The moisture in the ground will rot your wall and it will not last. I know Doughboy makes an AGP that can be buried. You might want to look into that.
