Theoretically, running the SWCG less should extend the life of your cell and reduce your electricity consumption.

If you do get one (which I also recommend), make sure you keep an eye on your chlorine level and SWCG setting as you will find you are using a lot less chlorine!

One of the downsides of an SWG is that running it raises the pool water pH. Having a relatively low TA (60-80) keeps you from having to add acid as often to compensate.

JohnN, I think they are trying to salvage a piece of the chlorine market they have lost as people switch to liquid chlorine. On the website, it doesn't say what type of chlorine it is, you have to enlarge the picture and have good eyesight to be able to read off the label that it is cal-hypo.
