Hello All, I have organic stains in my pool and have tried many different things to get rid of them with no luck. I have a vinyl liner and all the stains are on the bottom of the pool. Any thoughts on how to remove the stains? Thanks, Jeff

Thanks for the help. I did the test per your request with the tap water and I got 50 so doubled would be 100. I am using the TF-100 testing kit. Per the SLAM information I need to get the CF level to 39. Are there issues with that or do I just proceed? I do have another question - how come...

I would be careful to take to 20. In a previous thread someone said it should stay around 15 as getting above that could cause fading of the liner. Jeff

Chris....I did the same as Kim. I took the top off the sand filter and used a shop vac to suck out the sand. I had a friend help. I am sure it could have been done with one person but it was nice having another hand. My friend said it was the clearest home pool he had seen. Pictures are...

Sand filter changed, new sand installed and filter running great. Checking levels and will post. Pools looks great. Seems like it will be ready for swimming this weekend. Jeff

Quick question......I left this morning and FC was exactly 15 tested about 830pm and FC=1........disclaimer full sun all day and we got over an inch of rain this evening. I used pool cal and I am getting back to FC 15. Thanks, Jeff

Thanks so much for everyone's help. The conversion is moving along perfectly. I am changing the sand in the sand filter tomorrow. The pool looks amazing. I don't think I have ever seen it looks this crystal clear. My wife and kids were amazed. This site is amazing.

Chris.... I did not have much "goo" at all. I thought I was doing something wrong as well. FC Levels have been great. I have done a great deal of brushing the walls down but never really had any "goo" on top of my water. I may have backwashed 1 or 2 times a day....my pressure stayed pretty...

Keep adding it will get better. Like I said the first night I put 10 gallons in before my FC ever registered. My pool is looking great it is the clearest it has been in 3 years. My kids even commented on how good it was looking.

Yes for the first 48 hours I used 25 gallons of bleach.

I just used dropbox and then shared out the link. Pour the bleach to it. My pool responded with good readings after 2 hours. 1 hour was too soon for me. Here is my pool size 18x36 - 23,500 gallons, waterco s600 sand filter, 1 HP pump.

New numbers for the day 80 hours in.... FC - 13 CC - 8 TC - 21 PH - 7.4 Pool is clearing up will post pictures here in just a little have to put them on other site. Added liquid bleach this morning to get me back to FC of 15. Hope by Sunday we might be over the top. Jeff
