Hayward Super 2 - water coming out of back of motor

Ok, so I installed the seal correctly, but I did something wrong. I knew I was not supposed to touch the white part of the seal (I tried to not touch any of it with my fingers), I did not know I was not supposed to get silicone on the white part. :(

Hayward Super 2 - water coming out of back of motor

lllOf course, now to find time to work on it. I've already spent 10+ hours on this the last month. As far as the seal, the reason why I answered that way, is that I could not find any specific directions or pictures to know sure which way it was supposed to be installed.

Hayward Super 2 - water coming out of back of motor

Well, I know that I installed the way the previous one was installed, but I’ve only done that twice (last year and just recently), so of course I might have made a mistake.

Hayward Super 2 - water coming out of back of motor

Do you mean pump housing or motor housing (if that makes no sense, slap me)? What is a seal plate?

Hayward Super 2 - water coming out of back of motor

Hayward Super 2 - SP3015X20AZ I replaced the motor last year (A.O Smith). A month ago, the impeller backed off. I tightened the impeller back down, worked fine for a day, then water started coming out the bottom of the motor. So I replaced: Impeller Impeller ring Shaft seal Impeller seal...

    Using Loctite on the impeller?

I replaced a pump last year and the impeller backed off a few weeks ago. My uncle, who does a lot of general maintenance on pumps suggested Loctite (the lower strength stuff, like purple, not the high strength). This impeller does not use an impeller screw. Does anyone have experience doing...

Help with impeller parts on Hayward Super II

Pump is a very old Hayward Super II (SP3015X20AZ). I need to replace the impeller (backed up, threads are very worn down), but I'm having trouble ordering parts. The part that I pulled off was a SP3016-C, but seems like the part number for this pump's impeller should be SP3015-C. Can someone...

Pentair Mastertemp 400 - No Power?

I'm having a similar problem. Power on the terminal board seems right. I am getting 240 on red/black and 120 on black/yellow and red/yellow now. I have tested the fuse on the terminal board for continuity. How do I test the voltage coming off of the transformer?

Backwash Valve - Pin Broke - Bottom Half Stuck

I get what you are saying and I've had to do a lot of the same, but not much movement can be done here and there even that is applying pressure to the part that will break.

Backwash Valve - Pin Broke - Bottom Half Stuck

I can grab a decent amount of the stem. However, if it's a question of just force, I'm fairly certain it's going to break before it comes out. I've overhauled it about 3 years ago, but I guess it's time to do it again.

Backwash Valve - Pin Broke - Bottom Half Stuck

Zinc-played, I mean. Of course when I look at Home Depot's site, I see stainless ones, but never seen them in the store.

Backwash Valve - Pin Broke - Bottom Half Stuck

My fault that I left out a detail. The cotter pin broke because it's Zinc. I've been unable to find brass or stainless cotter pins and the Zinc ones last 3-4 months before they corrode all the way through. Usually I can still pull the valve out fairly easily after it breaks. This time it feels...

Backwash Valve - Pin Broke - Bottom Half Stuck

I don't know the exact one, but it's very similar to this: Hayward SP0410X502S Slide Backwash Valves for DE Filters on Sale at YourPoolHQ So, the pin broke that holds the handle to the bottom half of the valve. This has happened before as I'm using cotter pins due to the fact that I've never...
