    Pool got out of control!

What I use - do you mean test kit? I had the T100 -then my husband took over and was just using stick from wherever. . . I fear that my T100 is now empty / out of date. . . I'll head out later to try to find one / order one. . ..should I just run the aqua-bot and pump while I'm waiting for...

    Pool got out of control!

We neglected our pool for a few weeks (life got in the way) - and it is dark green, smells bad, and has fuffy stuff on the benches and floating on top. I scared to run the pump or our aqua-bot because I think they are going to get contaminated. We usually use the chlorine generator and add...

Burnt orange goo. . . at the water line

So - we have been doing the SLAM thing and I think we are at the end of the process. Initally the pool was cloudy - it is much less cloudy, but still not crystal clear like it was all last summer. . . Do I need to wait longer. . . . any other tips? Testing today shows: FC 17 CC 0.5 (<1)...

Burnt orange goo. . . at the water line

At the beginning of the season we had 0 CYA - and I don't think our SWG could keep up - - then it was a little cloudy - etc. (I didn't understand the role of / need for CYA - and we let it be too low for too long) Last year we had no problems - clear and nice all year - very little addition of...

Burnt orange goo. . . at the water line

We are newbies - - just now trying the SLAM method - my husband wanted to trust the pool store and now I have convinced him to go this route (after finding a source for 10% bleach - he was tired of all the bleach lugging and we had bought out our local walmart!) The pool was cloudy - put in...

No CYA - Low FC and a CLOUDY POOL!

Thanks for letting me know it can take that long. . . I think the pool math thing said to add 172 oz CYA - so far we have added a 64 oz bottle of 98% cya - two times (total 128 oz) - -I will wait for a while before adding more so I can give it time to show up. Our FC was up some yesterday - so...

No CYA - Low FC and a CLOUDY POOL!

This is our 2nd summer -we are new pool owners, and last year things went smoothly. This year . . . . Today's testing shows: FC 1.5 ppm CCl 0.5 ppm Total Alkalinity - 220 ppm total alk. as Cal Carb. Ca Hardness - 230 ppm as Cal Carb. pH 7.4. Cy Acid - too low to be measured I am confused...
