Thanks. I know to go big. HOW big is the question. I've read that 100 sq ft per 10000 gallon is a good rule for cartridge filters. That's why the above mentioned seemed too small. INYO told me it was big enough. Didn't seem right. I still may go with sand (hayward s310t2). Money IS an object. :)

I have a 24x44 in ground and will be installing a safety cover for the first time. I'm going south for the winter and won't be here to tighten straps. Is it OK to put a few inner tubes in the center for added support?

The sales people are saying that I can't use a 25x45. Is there reinforcement at the pool edges or something else that would make a 25x45 not work?

I'm finding 25x45 in stock but no 24x44. Would a 25x45 just be 6" bigger on each side? Can I use one?

I'm thinking of getting a safety cover for my 24x44 vinyl pool. I live in Pittsburgh so the winters are rough. I need something relatively self sustaining because I go to Florida for the winters. My brother lives close by so he can occasionally check on things. Money IS a factor.:D. Opinions?

I said that iI was jumping d and e earlier and it was firing up. Obviously I was mistaken. As you say Danpik,jumping d and f is what gets it fired up. It still does this. I'm getting a reading of 60 between th and tp WITH THE UNIT RUNNING.Can the safety switches be tested with it running? And...

Yes. 500. And momentarily jumping those two wires has caused the heater to fire up in the past.

I hooked it back up after checking to see that the pilot burners holes were clear and blew the tube out with compressed air. Put the door on. Still nothing. It still clicks and the pilot goes out when I attempt to jump it.

No I haven't. It makes an audible click when I attempt to jump it. I have the thermopile unit removed. Would ordering a new one be prudent?

I have a Hayward h250 that will only fire up by jumping the white and red wires near the front valve for a sec. It worked again this year. Once. Now when i Touch the white to red I head a click and the pilot goes out. Any Ideas? Thanks.
