New Pool in Arizona (new pics 12/3)

Re: New Pool in Arizona We added a pool this winter to our arizona house and the best choice we made was a large integrated spa. We can heat the spa to 89 degrees really quickly and hold it there at minimal cost and can float two loungers in there. We are from canada so we like being in the...

What does a pool service actually do?

We have a pool in AZ and live in Canada and have a service that is cleaning our pool. What exactly should I expect? They sweep, vacuum, clean the skimmer - do they run the pumps /fire up the heater etc to check things out? A separate question - our neighbor had a different service cleaning...

    Pentair and ColorCascade?

Here is a photo of the lights without the bubblers, I personally think they look quite strange unless the water is on so I recommend setting your controller so that you can have just the pool/spa lights on without the bubblers so you have the option to leave the water off.

    new pool lighting/bubbler questions

We have the bubbler lights and regret them - the lights look terrible without the bubblers on, and getting and keeping them synced was a battle.

    Jandy iaqualink for PDA

I purchased the screenlogic2 for $330 which seemed reasonable. The pool builder wanted $900 (not including install) - mind you I don't need the wireless connector. I'm installing it next time I'm in AZ so we will see how that goes :)

Solar cover on part of pool - not on tanning ledge?

Thanks, that's what I thought. I was looking at the "solar roller" http://solarfactory.com and the fellow there suggested cutting the main pool part in two to roll up and not covering the ledge. Seems like if I covered the ledge with a 6x24 cover I could remove that pretty easily, then have...

Solar cover on part of pool - not on tanning ledge?

Lorenson_Bench Aerial.jpg[/attachment:15ktf7mb]We have an unusual shaped pool (rectangle with large tanning ledge separated by a table so we didn't need extra stairs into the deep middle part) . pool daytime.jpg[/attachment:15ktf7mb] It's pretty...

    Help with layout please

I would put it close to the house, landscaping/fencing etc. is expensive and the closer to the house the less pressure to develop your lot. It is also really nice to sit around the pool instead of gazing at it in the distance. I would also consider putting it perpendicular to the house so you...

What is a good size for a L shaped pool?

They were $30 each installed, but now we don't need the big cantilevered umbrellas around the pool now, we just pick the umbrellas up and move them as the sun moves and depending on whether people want to be on the tanning ledge/deck or pool :)

What is a good size for a L shaped pool?

That volleyball net looks awesome! We have a family of competitive volleyball players and have found that the $99 net from Leslie's is just great for us (and light to put up/take down). Just make sure you've got the net standards/umbrella holes in place (we do shim ours). We have 5 umbrella...

    ScreenLogic Interface Installation

Thanks. I'm heading down in a few weeks and hoping to make this work but my pc doesn't have a cd drive just my Mac. Ill bring both down, and maybe download the software if I can find it online in case I need to use the pc. Do you need to have a computer left connected once its all set up? I...

    ScreenLogic Interface Installation

So if I have no changes to make ill be able to see the current settings on the computer? That's great! Do you know if the setup can be done on a Mac or do I need to bring my PC (it's a vacation home so we don't have both set up there :)) Thanks

That's great, thanks so much. I have a remote and I'm wondering if there's any way to save the settings on that so that I can just duplicate them in the screenlogic settings?

    Pentair and ColorCascade?

We have these and they've been nothing but trouble - our pool was completed a little over a month ago and the pool company has been out 6 separate times trying to get these lights to work. I'm not sure what controller you have but these don't work with the suntouch so they upgraded us to an...

New Pool - First Time Heating

Everything I've read lately seems to imply they're safe - Heatsavr is the brand our community pools here in Canada use (they're a Cdn company but market extensively in the states) - they have a little fish you cut the fin off as well and it releases the fluid for a month or so. Swimmers can't...

    ScreenLogic Interface Installation

I am planning to do this as well - we have an easytouch 4 with a wireless remote but I would like the ability to control it through my iphone. I'm wondering how your install went? With your easytouch fully set up, did the interface just transfer the data to the iphone or did you have to...

New Pool - First Time Heating

I second the suggestion above to get the "liquid solar cover" to retain the heat and maybe not run the heater all night but start it again in the morning so you have it heated for the party but sufficient LP to keep it warm if the air temp is cooler.

New Pool - First Time Heating

I may have misunderstood my pool builder but I was under the assumption that it was better to run the heater when the pump was on low speed (I kind of recall it being something about the heating of water being more efficient if the water was flowing through the pump at lower speed). I'm...
