Another Michigander chiming in (it's a party now!) - I'm around 30 CYA (after having to drain 4 ft. last year due to high CYA that I inherited) and losing about the same amount of FC each day as well. Very little shade on my pool also. I started TFP method last year. This year it is C-R-Y-S-T-A-L!

Re: I think I've fought off the algae, but I have a filter question... Definitely take the advice to start your own thread. I can tell you, I'm in the blue cloudy stage and it appears to have no end in sight. I can actually slightly see the brush when I put it to the floor in the shallow end...

Just came across an old Bioguard test the previous owners had done in 2012. On the sheet it says Cya ideal level "30-200"!

I was able to test with the Taylor 2006 today. Cya 100+ (can't tell how high actually, because it only goes to 100) Ph 7.5 FC 13.2 CC 0 TA 170 From what I understand, I'm looking at partial drainage until I get Cya down.

I have a Hayward CL200 Chlorine Feeder that is already installed. If I wanted to stop using it, is it just as simple as not putting any more pucks into it, or is there something additional that should be done?
