    4 90s vs. telescoping repair

Not too difficult to get to, I'd just prefer to use the best repair. I guess I'm weighing head loss with the 4 90s and potential thread leak with the telescoping repair. I do have unions above ground with no issues to far though.

    4 90s vs. telescoping repair

Any thoughts on a 2" telescoping repair underground on the pressure side? I'm wondering if the threaded connection or o-rings are ever a problem. The other option is to run with the 4 90deg method, or try one of these Repair Fitting

    Leak, stopped below return

Here's a look at the leaking pipe. I still need to chip out more concrete to replace the section, I don't plan on replacing the concrete at the moment. I would say it's thrust blocked, I've installed a couple commercial irrigation systems. But I can't find much on doing the same for pools...

    Leak, stopped below return

I was able to locate a leak in the return line. :santa: There's a mess of fittings where it comes up to the pool and tee's into a loop. Once I dry it out a bit I'll see how much I need to patch or cut out and replace. There is some concrete in there, is it necessary to replace for a thrust...

    Leak, stopped below return

Water level is steady at 9.25 inches below normal, 6.25 inches below the skimmer throat. Yeah chunky my leak stopped at one of the returns, but the other two are submerged (not all on the same level). However all three returns are tee'd off the same pipe which loops around the pool, so I'm...

    Leak, stopped below return

I haven't done much but monitor it since Monday but should have some more time to dig around today. The water level has been steady for about a week. I haven't had to get in (yet?), but I'm hanging upside down over the edge a lot and my hands are often numb. I tried some food coloring...

    Leak, stopped below return

I'm going to do some more digging around the current water level and see what I can find. I will see if I can find some plugs locally as well. I do have collars around the return eyeballs, I just need to make or buy a tool to remove them. The object above the return in the photo is a rock...

    Leak, stopped below return

Thanks. Yes, I turned the autofill and pump off at the same time. I didn't notice air in the system but also have been paying much less attention to it at this time of year. Initially I thought it was the suction line because the leak slowed at the skimmer throat, but then it did continue to...

    Leak, stopped below return

A recent high water bill, and damp area between the pool and pad led me to search for a leak. I shut off the autofill and it dropped about 7-8 inches over a week, and it appears to have stopped. The level now is below one of the 3 returns, which is the highest and closest to the pad. Water in...

I'm wondering what will happen with NPS as well... the same 2gal that has been $4.99 is $7.99. I think it was on sale May-Oct last year and was the best price I found. I'm currently doing the refill jugs as well. $16.50/4gal/15% from One Stop Pool Shop in N Phx, but I've found it to be closer...

Evaporation rates are high here, probably why he's a fan of autofills. An approximate number in my area of Phoenix is 9 inches since June 1.

I misunderstood the Min and Target FC levels and now I'm guessing I have organics again, as I've been losing 4-6ppm per day. What I think I need to do in the future is calculate my own target, and raise to that FC level so that it won't go below the minimum before the next dose. I was adding...

    TFPC newb in phoenix

Yesterday morning I was at FC 6.5 pH 7.4, this afternoon FC 4 pH 7.7 So my FC from SLAM has now drifted below target level and I need to start adding chlorine routinely. While also working on lowering TA, do I lower pH first, let it circulate, then add chlorine?

I can't remove the rock for cleaning, I should have had it removed permanently while draining. I've been squatting on it and scrubbing it with a steel brush, got through a few layers of algae over the last few days. The yellow algae did cloud when I brushed it, but still remained on the...

Fairly certain. You can see that rock pic in #81 above is pretty yellow. It was also on the steps and shaded sides of the pool and tough to move when I scrubbed it.
