If that happens, is it time to replace the fabric "blades" in the filter?

    DE in the pool?

We recently had our pool remodeled. We went from a white plaster pool to a darker pebble tech finish. It has been a pretty mild winter so I am not vacuuming regularly until yesterday. About a month ago, I replaced the DE in the system. Everything seemed fine until I started vacuuming. The bottom...

    Pool Remodel in NorCal

The pool is much darker than what we were expecting. It has grown on me though. I wish I would have thought to submerge the sample.

    Pool Remodel in NorCal

Thanks for the info. I have been my pool maintenance guy since day 1. Towards the end, I had a heck of a time with yellow algae and too many dissolved solids in the water; who knows how long the water was in the pool. The pool is actually finished, I am just slowly posting the progress. :)

    Pool Remodel in NorCal

We chose Twilight by Wet Edge for the finish and a blue tile with rock coping. When the wet edge is actually wet, the base is darker. Our Doberman and a cattle dog mix rescue. The cattledog likes to go in the empty pool and supervise. They had to upgrade the drain. They made a new seat and...

The guy had so much trouble installing it plus the adapter ring didnt seem to fit properly. All I know is Anthony made everything for their pools right down to the bolts. I guess it was the best he could do.

    Pool Remodel in NorCal

Hello all. We purchased a home in Feb of 2015. We knew the pool needed some help since some tiles had popped off and other issues. However, the Summer of 2017 is when the pool gave up. The steps began to crumble, the plaster was coming off in chunks, the coping joints were crumbling, the...

    Odd shape and cover

I need to buy a cover for the pool. Our pool is a very odd shape and I am not too sure what to do. Do I buy a rectangle ad cut it? Do I just use the rectangle over the odd shape? I have attached a drawing of the shape and size. It is 15 x 35 at the longest points. Thanks for any and all help! Tom

Deck drain clogged and replacement drain covers

I hadn't thought of that. Maybe in the future. I have sprayed the end of the exposed pipe brown to match the dirt for the time being.

Deck drain clogged and replacement drain covers

Judging by the placement of the T fitting and how deep the pipe was buried, no. I bet it worked well for the first two or three years then just unnoticed for the years after until it fully clogged. The deck would drain over a day and a half normally. From what I can gather, we are the third...

Deck drain clogged and replacement drain covers

Major update. I found the covers at Lowes for $2 each. When the work was done, I lubed them up and put all new ones back in. I finally had to call Roto-Rooter. When the guy showed up, he asked me where the deck drain ended up. I only presumed it was attached to the storm drain and told him so...

40 year old (ish) Anthony pool light questions

The light doesn't work in my pool. We recently bought the house and I really know zero about the construction of the pool. In my research today, I found that the sealed pool lamps of today have a long bunch of wire attached to them for removal. Was it typical of Anthony Pools of yesteryear to...

Deck drain clogged and replacement drain covers

Just bought a house with a pool. The pool is about 40 years old and needs a bit of maintenance. I finally have the chemistry down and I am at a point where I need to change out the DE powder in the filter. I ran some phosphate killer and need to purge the system to get it out of the filter...
