    Copper Issue from heater.

James very informative. What would be your stance if this was your heater? Replace it or Keep it running? Anything I can do to slow the process down since the chemistry is back in balance (IE. Adding a Zinc plate?) @JoyfulNoise Any other copper stain removal processes you recommend instead? My...

    Copper Issue from heater.

I'll try to keep it short. I have some large areas of staining that I suspected were from copper. My suspicions are driven by the kids hair constantly turning green, as well as a spot test of a vitamin-c tablet having black color reaction with the stains before eventually disappearing. I...

    Low TA Issue

Allen, Is it that bad? Can I really kill an exchanger that quickly? Also, would that be just the gas heater or the heat pump as well? If this is the case I'm tossing the digital ATC because it's a costly mistake.

    Low TA Issue

I could use some guidance here. Before I start, this pool is about a year old. Things have been otherwise stable except for it's constant demand to add acid because of rising PH. Recently (stupid me) left the hose on over night and I estimate that I replaced nearly 15,000g of water by the time...

    A little guidance here?

Ok guys please let me know if I'm on the right track... Pool looks the best it has since we first had it installed two years ago. Water is clear and even the black algae spots are gone. Here is tonight's reading: FC: 30.5 TC: 30.5 CYA: 70 (It could be closer to 80 but I have a hard time...

    A little guidance here?

Hey Gang! Got the TF-100 today and unless I'm doing something wrong this is really funny: FC: 14.5 TC: 15.5 CYA: 50 (closer to 55 actually) At this rate I'll burn though the FC solitons pretty quickly adding 28+ drops. Either way I'm going to test again in the morning for the Overnight FC...

    A little guidance here?

Wow thanks everyone! I'm going to order the TF-100 today. I've never trusted the pool store. I'm not saying they are..but it would be easy for them to fluff a number or two just to make sure my wallet leaves $30-$50 lighter. I have a little more stabilizer to add but I'm actually afraid too...

    A little guidance here?

    Jandy AquaPure Timer Question

I had a new pool installed last year. I'm in the process of installing a heater and having the equipment moved. This triggered me to read pages and pages of manuals recently, so brings my question: They (pool builder or electrician ) hooked my SWG to a mechanical timer located inside the...

    Newbie. Question about moving Equiptment

I've put some more thought into this... Would it really be so bad to leave the values where they are at and just relocate the equipment? Doing this I could still adjust the water features visually using the values. The image below is what I have in mind now. This should also prevent me from...

    Newbie. Question about moving Equiptment

Here are the pictures so you have a good idea of where I'm wanting to go with it. I'm wondering if I took the grates off the main drain covers if I can just plug the pipes from there. If my drains are anything like these it would sure make it easy to get some threaded PVC caps from the hardware...

    Newbie. Question about moving Equiptment

This is along the lines of what I was thinking. Buying caps to cover the returns/spa jets. Using a 5 gallon bucket over the main drain in hopes the suction would hold it down without damaging the pools surface. The pool is in the upper 70's low 80's right now. If needed I'll throw on a wet suit...

    Newbie. Question about moving Equiptment

Signature is updated. duraleigh, I've read if the pipes are lower than the water level, then it's going to get messy. Is this not the case?

    Newbie. Question about moving Equiptment

Sorry, it's an in-ground pool with pebble tec. The skimmer and main drain are on different lines. I have values near the equipment to control the flow to both but they are well above ground.

    Newbie. Question about moving Equiptment

Hi All, I've came here for a while seeking advice but it's time I registered and asked my own question. We had a small (10-11K gallon) pool installed about a year ago. We're looking at adding a pool heater to extend our swim season, however at the same time we'd like to re-locate the pool...
