    Pentair IC40 is not generating chlorine

    I would double check the salt level. My IC60 does not produce chlorine very well when it gets below 3000. And I had to recalibrate it before. It was reading green, level ok. But it was actually 2600ish... Chris

    We filled with well water and have had no problem with any metals. I did test before fill though to make sure... Chris

    Pentair Gas heater problem!?

    It is fixed, replaced the Thermal Regulator and works like a champ. The old regulator was corroded with some blue stuff. Can the salt do this or did my chems get out of whack? It was quite a project but I added unions this time for easy access if needed in the future. Appreciate the help...

    OK, got some time to check this. I also should let you know it is an ASME heater. I pulled the top brass plug and gained access to the bypass valve. Some corrosion, not not to bad. Looks like this is suppose to leak a little anyways. Looks like I have to pull the lower pipe off to access...

    Bringing this back to the top, as I have the same problem and curious if any solution was found. I called Pentair and they said it sounded like a restricted heat exchanger... Is this something a DIYer can fix/clean? I already changed out the HLS. Chris

    Glacier Pool Chillers are Awesome!

    Great pics... I think I will need to do something this year, last year got to hot. And the Glacier idea is cool, pun intended, but definitely not cheap. I have 8 returns, 6 pool and 2 spa. I also run my pump at about 20 GPM. Any suggestions on quantity?

    How do you empty your Polaris bag?

    To install the knee high, install it down in the polaris and fold the end on the Polaris plastic housing. Then install the bag with 2 clips to hold it on place. When the pump turns on it will blow the knee high into the polaris bag. Let us know.....

    How do you empty your Polaris bag?

    I have 2 suggestions. First is to get a second bag and pull the dirty one off and let it dry out. It will empty/clean a lot better when it is dry, then you can just swap bags. Second, I use a Knee High Panty hose and put it on the polaris first, then the bag. Kind of like a good sand/silt...
