For my part using the concepts here have slowly reduced the time to roughly 2 hours in the early evenings ( when I add chemicals ). In the fall if I get more leaves in the pool I may run for a bit longer, but 2 hours seems plenty to keep surface material to a minimum.

Was swimming in our new pool in the DFW area most days up until the week before Christmas. Normally after a run so it felt pretty good. Managed it down to 50 degrees. Haven't been in since Christmas though.

Are you sure they didn't mean sealer over rock / concrete decking exposed to the salt water? For example flagstone coping? rather than the gunite itself?

This past March the most expensive quote we had on a pool by Claffey, similar to yours (32x17), PebbleTech, minus the spa and only ~600 feet of decking was in the mid 50s. A spa would have added another 8K or so if I remember correctly. Ended up going with another PB

Well it has been a week, things have cleared up a bit and seems to be little to no green. Things overall seem to be a bit lighter in color, lighter than what we had hoped. The shades do change all day long. This is from just now in the afternoon sun. This is from this from late this afternoon.
