    AquaLink Z4 Controller

Hello forum, Have had a Aqualink Z4 controller for about six years. No issues until the other day when I noticed the pool pump was not running. Went to the controller and saw the controller only showing the text "TRi-Pure" and the time (see pic). Tried a few things, nothing. Called Zodiac, was...

    Zodiac iAqualink Z4 Problem

Not sure if anyone else has, or has had this problem with the Zodiac Z4. If I set my pool pump program from say 8am - 6pm, but at 5:30pm I manually turn on the spa mode, at 6pm the spa and heater shuts off, the valves move to the pool setting and then nothing happens. I then have to manually...

New Conversion. Salt at 4100. Empty and Re-Fill?

Just converted to SW. Added 9x40lb bags last night. Plumbed in today. Reading at 4100. Should I empty and re-fill with fresh water, or let it go for a couple of days?

    Preparing The Water

Going to be installing my SWG this weekend. Aqua Rite install manual says to add, if not new water, 1 quart of metal remover and 1 quart of non-copper based algaecide. Should I? Thanks.

Grounding or sacrificial anode or both

Is seems the general consensus is to install some kind of sacrificial anode (zinc) when using a SWG. I have already ordered a zinc plate that fits in the skimmer basket. It was $25 and is probably a good investment. My question is, I have a small overflow drain in my skimmer that I could use to...

AutoPilot Digital Nano or Pentair Intellichlor IC40......Let the battle begin!

Have weeded down my choice for a SWG to these two (unless someone else has a really good recommendation). I know all SWG's have their pros and cons, but what say you TFP experts? Also, I have spent the weekend reading some horror stories about SWG. Some have said, especially those in SW...

    Old Equipment to New Equipment

Took almost 5 days, but go it done. Even came close to shedding a few tears! Time to update my signature!

5lb Check Valve....Or Just Use Ball Valve

Since I was going to install a heater bypass with 3 ball vales, should I bother also installing a 5lb check valve? Is there any advantage to installing the check valve? Seems redundant as I can always open the bypass valve if the flow rate to the heater exceeds 70GPM. Thoughts?

Automation......Thought I Was Confused Before It Arrived

Even before my Zodiac Z4-PSi arrived, I was looking at the installation manual and scratching my head. Now I am flat out confused! What I have in boxes in my garage are a Pentair Intelliflo VSP, Zodiac Z4-PSi, and an Aquatherm heater (Aquacal). My first question is, according to the...

    Rainbow Chlorine Feeder...Where?

We are finally putting in a heater and all new equipment for pool and spa. Question, if I put in a new chlorine feeder, should I attach it to the pool return only, and not include it on the spa return? Thought being, we do not over chlorinate the spa while being used. We will probably use the...

    120v or 240v spa blower?

I am replacing my existing 240v spa blower. The spa is only a small half moon, seats 5, adjacent to the pool with spillover. Since the existing electrical circuit, connected to a dial Intermatic timer, is 240v, the existing blower is 240v, no choice. Since I am putting in a new 100amp sub...

Jandy Valve - Can Closing Gate Be Rotated 90 Degrees To Close Inlet

Wondering if the closing gate can be rotated 90 degrees on a Jandy valve (take off lid, rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise and reattach). See attached pic. Unless I am missing something, I would be unable to run the spa only, and therefore only heat the heat the spa (when heater is installed)...

All New Equipment, Need Advice and Help Please

Hello from a newbie, After being in our home for a year, which was originally built in 1983, we have decided to take the plunge, no pun intended, and invest in all new pool/spa equipment, and actually have a spa, not a glorified waterfall! The pool measures 29'x14' (without the spa portion and...
