Jandy valve actuator handle rotating 360

Hello, My spa jandy valve handle is rotating 360 degrees with the filter on and with the filter off. When I discovered the problem the motor was hot to the touch. It is a NeverLube model. It does appear to stick making me think it's a gear problem. All of the connections look good.

Balancing chemicals 6 weeks after replastering

Well all righty then! It looks like I've learned a lot here including snapping to the impossible FC/CYA relationship. Actually it is a hugh relief not having to continue to go to Leslie's and play their game. I'm happy to have figured it out 6 weeks into balancing. Still, getting PH and TA to...

Balancing chemicals 6 weeks after replastering

Hello all! We just replastered our pool with pebble and had a company start up the pool and brush for the first month. We added salt, CYA and turned on the SWG after 1 month. We did this with the help of Leslie's, LOL. Now we are having a difficult time getting a good reading from Leslie's to...

It has been one week since the fill date and the pool is getting more blue!! We are thrilled so far! For those concerned about midnight blue going green (we were) we have live oaks all around the pool. We are seeing the pool as very blue with reflections of green at certain times of day. The...

I did A LOT of research on contractors and I HIGHLY recommend my plasterers. You can see the name on their T-shirts or just PM me. Every pool professional I talked to recommended these guys. Yes we LOVE the Great Pyrenees! She is our second one and she rescued us - as the saying goes. She does...

Oh thank you both for dancing! We have a light drizzle right now so we are in the clear! Acid tomorrow and clean up. I won't be home but I am looking forward to the surprise when I get home. I made my husband cover his eyes and I walked him outside to reveal the pool to him today when he got...

Thank you. It is so much fun to rescue an older pool. I bet it is more fun building one to all your specifications! Good luck with your build!

It's probably useless! Just in case of a small patch. I used to faux finish for a living - lot's of plaster work on walls and ceilings. We always gave the homeowner a sample jar. In case they move a switch plate or fixture. Almost impossible to go back and match. Easier to match if you have a...

A cautionary tale: I had negotiated hand tossed shells to be added but not in the contract (long story). Ask for hand toss - cheaper and you don't waste shells in the mix. So I took off work to watch and to get my shells. When I asked the plaster guys if they had the shells they looked confused...

We took a gamble on larger pebbles because our pool is mostly deep - a true swimming pool. We just love the look of large pebbles. That said, if it were a sports pool we would go with mini. We did consider the heat with a deep color but figure it may extend the season - also with a deep end we...
