    Darn Maple Seeds

This year has produced a bumper crop of Maple seeds and keeping the pool cleaned is an endless chore. Hopefully they will all be down in a few days and things can get back to normal.

    Painted the pool black today

In an effort to raise the pool temp a little I painted it latex flat black today. Time will tell if it is any warmer.

It finally decided to warm up here and my pool temperature hit 60 degrees so today I opened the pool.

Waited too long to remove the leaf net maybe?

We were on a cruise for a couple weeks earlier this month and came back to a little snow. There's bound to be a thaw sometime and I'll get the leaf net off then.

Have you used your pool less than me?

Here it is with August winding down and we have been in the pool a grand total of 1 time this summer. It has not been a very warm summer this year compared to the last few years. The pool is crystal clear but just not warm enough to enjoy. Oh well. Maybe next year. :shark:

    Windy

The winds peaked at 70 MPH here yesterday. I am glad I had ropes across the pool to help keep my winter cover on. :D Larry

    Issue Logging In

For the past week I have been getting this message after logging in: vBulletin Message Invalid Redirect URL (Trouble Free Pool) and the forum is no longer "remembering" my log in. I thought clearing cookies solved the issue but it hasn't. Thanks, Larry

Honey Bees - Stung Twice Today - What the USDA Advises

This summer has been very dry. We have been in a severe drought most of it. The honey bees have been visiting my pool all day long and there are more and more of them coming every day. Today I was stung twice. I believe in live and let live but this is not fun anymore. My granddaughter is afraid...

    Small deck build

In May I spent a week building this small 6' x 8' pressure treated deck for the pool. It came out really well I think. The slide was found at the curb and works well for my granddaughter to use. Larry

Draining Excess Water From the Pool in Winter

It's not as easy as it sounds. My pool has been iced over for some time. Yesterday I could see it was melting and I had high hopes I could pump off the water from the winter cover. Today I looked at it and it is frozen solid again. I am not going to worry about it. :D

Pumping off the winter cover with a fountain pump

This is my first year closing a pool and I am still learning what will work best for my pool. With all the leaves I know I have to get a leaf net next year. I bought a 264 GPH fountain pump at Harbor Freight for around 12.00. It comes with various fittings and works quite well. I took a plastic...

    Lots of dirt

I have been vacuuming my Coleman 16' x 48" power steel pool about twice a week. I have a large maple next to the pool and get leaves, bugs, twigs and some dirt but yesterday evening I noticed a great deal of dirt on the bottom which was unusual. This morning I was vacuuming it out and remembered...

Exact measurement of Intex 15' Easy Set pool solar cover?

Currently packed away for the winter I have a 10' x 30" Intex Easy Set pool that I have used the last 2 summers. I plan to go to a larger 15' x 48" Easy Set this coming summer. I have a piece of solar cover that I can cut but do not know the size of the opening of a 15' easy set pool. I know on...
