Another from Downunder with a blow up!

The smell of the chemical in the water is far from pleasant though.

Where in Canberra are you? I lived there for a good part of my life.

Another from Downunder with a blow up!

Just thought I'd update on the water. It went a bit cloudy last week so I looked to the pump and filter cartridge as the possible offender. I threw a stocking over the cartridge and the water was clear again within a day or two. I went out to check the progress today and noticed a large...

Going to make the Baqua to Chlorine Switch...with your help!

Thanks again for a fast reply. Seeing as though summer is almost over but we still have some pool weather around it may be best as a next summer thing. I'll put up with the strange smell of the chemicals for a bit longer and report back the next time I set the pool up.

Going to make the Baqua to Chlorine Switch...with your help!

Fantastic. I may grab the C version to keep me going. Nicely over $200 delivered! What would be the expected time for a conversion on such a small pool, or is it all relative because of equally small pumps?

Going to make the Baqua to Chlorine Switch...with your help!

First things first then. It's near impossible to get the recommended test kits in Australia. The Taylor K-2006 seems to be the easiest to get a hold of, albeit with $50 of shipping costs. Just making sure that this is the correct one...

Thanks mate. Should I wait to get a test kit first?

Going to make the Baqua to Chlorine Switch...with your help!

I was thinking of just dumping the current water and starting from scratch. Even though I want to see the pretty colours!

Thanks! I believe I should also dump the current cartridge in the filer which will have Baqua in it already.

Going to make the Baqua to Chlorine Switch...with your help!

Enough of your pools have made me want more sparkling water than I have so I'm going to dump my water and start again. So many questions though. The first one is that I don't have a proper test kit yet so can I actually do it or should I wait a couple of weeks? What is my basic shopping list...

Another from Downunder with a blow up!

Hahaha. Yes. 8 inches of rain in about 14 hours! Luckily I had an Oztrail gazebo over it or else I would've been refilling it from scratch today. I knew that as soon as I realised that these pools could be semi-permanent and got got it semi-semi-permanently set up that there would be rain...

Another from Downunder with a blow up!

Would someone be able to recommend me a good floor cleaner for this pool and slightly larger in the future? Nothing extravagant. Most of the gunk on the bottom seems to end up in one like and under the centre seem. Thanks in advance.

My goodness. I'm now hunting online and eBay for next summers pool! I'll be moving and have no idea the house or land I'll be in. What have you all done to me?!?!?!

Yeah. I think that may be the way to go. I've done that once but I was just looking for an easier way.

Hi there! Was typing the last post and noticed we just mentions the same thing. :) Unfortunately they don't fit on the new fittings.

Another from Downunder with a blow up!

From memory I checked for a lip inside the lid but no such luck. I may investigate a tap (nor sure if that's the right terminology for it) system of some sort. At least then I'll be satisfied that I have created some sort of 'mod' for my pool. :) Actually just noticed in the manual that it...

Another from Downunder with a blow up!

I tried that but with the water rushing out, the O Ring won't seat properly for me to close it up. Awesome comparison by the way! :):):)

Another from Downunder with a blow up!

You guys are terrible. I'm considering dumping my water and switching to chlorine! I have to keep telling myself that I have made an 'investment' elsewhere and might as well use it for the next month or two before the pool will get packed away. A question on cleaning the filter cartridge on a...

I've read you're entire thread! Impressive. I have seen a second hand one on Gumtree here that looks similar with an upgraded pump and filter. Must say I'm a tad keen.

I would have to jinx it, wouldn't I. It's now raining! The saving grace is the pop up gazebo above it. ;) I must say I'm surprised how much of a cult movement there is for these pop up pools. I originally thought they were a toy but people seem to take them pretty seriously.

Another from Downunder with a blow up!

The chlorine comment was purely based on the fact that I already had the alternative kit. Nothing against it. I had a salt water chlorinated pool when I lived on the other side of the country and live with a swim instructor so you can imagine that I know all about chlorine in heavy doses. :)...

Another from Downunder with a blow up!

Honestly, after reading a lot around here, I know that the next time will be with chlorine. I have the kit now and it should last until the end of summer at which point I'll take it down and get reading/asking questions and purchasing everything I need for the next season. I've already found...

Another from Downunder with a blow up!

Amazing knowledge. And you're right, the third is an algaecide. I figure that where I'm currently living, I'm not overly keen on working chlorine and its only a temporary $55 pool that holds around 3500 litres of water. I'm looking at moving in around 6 months and will look to do it properly...
