Need temporary fix/ SWG stopped production

I agree. Compared to other owners, my SWG has done very well. I do have neighbors that can check on things. Yesterday, I cleaned the cell, added some salt and a gal liquid chlorine. Put the cell back together and now have a small leak that allows the system to drain back into the pool. The...

Need temporary fix/ SWG stopped production

My 15YO Zodiac LM3 is not working correctly. Of course, I am about to leave town for a couple weeks. If I can't find a fix before I leave, what is the best way to keep the pool chlorinated until I return? The control panel comes on but only the first of 5 lights that show the amount of...

Polaris 280 rebuild or New 360

My Polaris 280 needs to be refreshed. The rebuild kit cost about $120 less than a new 360. The 360 says it doesnt need a booster pump. Would I be okay with getting a new 360? Will the 360 run better if the booster pump is running? Thanks

Help finding SR Smith kids water slide anchor bolts

Thanks for the replies. This is for a Cyclone kids slide. I found some wedge anchor bolts from Marsh fasteners that I could get without having to buy 25. I hope they serve the purpose.

Help finding SR Smith kids water slide anchor bolts

Can anyone direct me to a source for 1/2" stainless anchor bolts for a slide? The SR Smith PN is 5-241(1/2"X13X5"). I suppose I could use aftermarket but want to make sure I get the proper bolt. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Scott

    Salt test issue

Wow!!!! I think you guys are correct. After doing this same test several times a year since 2008, you would think I would know how to do it. I guess I am getting complacent. I'll retest later today and let you know for sure. Thanks!!

Amount of liquid chlorine needed for SLAM?

I recently used 14 gallons of 12.5%. Took 3 days. Your situation may be different.

    Salt test issue

I can't get my sample water to turn brown. I am using a Taylor K-1766 Salt test kit. After adding 40 drops of reactant, the sample will still not turn color. I took a sample to Leslie's who says my salt level is 3633PPM. Thinking my test kit is bad, I purchased a new kit which still would...

Best time of day to generate chlorine

Given the fact that I have been operating my pool for 12yrs with little problems, I feel a little silly asking this question but I have always wondered, is there a better time of day to have the single speed pump and SWG turn on? I run my pump about 4.5 hrs per day and like to have it on while I...

    Hazy water after heavy rains

lindz18-Thanks for posting. I am following close. Barry must have brought in something in it's rain water. I am in S Louisiana and experiencing the same issue. My FC has been at or near 5 for months, and still is. CA stays around 70. My CH is low (80) but I am not sure that has an effect. I...

Light green tint and a little cloudy

I lurk on here quite often and soak up a lot of knowledge. Thanks! Here is a problem I don't understand and ask for any guidance. Here is the short story. My pool has been clean, clear and balanced for months but is now starting to turn green. F.C has not gone below 4 since late spring. I am...

Why such a wide price range for LM3-24 replacement cell

To almost answer my own question- I ordered, received and installed a Zodiac replacement cell from epools_Austrailia (ebay)for $220. It was a 90 second install and works perfectly.

Why such a wide price range for LM3-24 replacement cell

Philo-That looks like a good suggestion. I was looking for the easy way out which would be cell replacement. Your suggestion doesn't look too difficult. Thanks

Why such a wide price range for LM3-24 replacement cell

So, after having an almost trouble free pool for over 10 Yrs (thanks to this site!) I believe my Clearwater LM3-24 cell needs to be changed. I only get one green light as well as the "add salt" light even though the salt is at 4400PPM at 80F. CYA is at 50, PH at 7.6, but I struggle to keep FC...

First time poster with heater questions

Wow, Thanks for that info. Now I have to ask because I don't want to assume, is a Laars LX250 and a Jandy LX250 the same machine?

First time poster with heater questions

First time poster hoping to not make a mistake. Re: Jandy LX heater Since our pool was constructed in 2006, we have never had a heater. I really never thought about getting one. Recently, a friend installed a pool and received a heater as part of the package deal. He says the heater would...
