Water test shows bromine for my Clorine salt water (SWG) pool

My old tests were showing no cyanic acid, I added 1KG to my 30sqm inground pool, which should have raised it to about 30ppm and I waited, CYA level was not increasing in the test, and the pool was not clearing even after a 25ppm shock of liquid bleach. SO I added another KG of cyanic acid, and...

Water test shows bromine for my Clorine salt water (SWG) pool

Thanks, I kind of suspected it was reading Chlorine with the bromine test, I normally use AquaCheck strips which i have found to be pretty good (If you don't use a 5 YO pack that is) but tried a different brand this time, they seem the same but test a couple more things including bromine (which...

Water test shows bromine for my Clorine salt water (SWG) pool

Been having some issues trying to get my pool open. Had been using an old pack of test strips and realised they were very out of date resulting in I think me adding too much stabiliser to the pool, so ordered some more tests (different brand), replaced half the water and this test contains a...

    Problem With Filter Balls

What I meant was that it is advertised as making your pool water clearer and needing less backwashes but in reality I didn't find that it made any difference. It is however more expensive than sand (not hugely admittedly) and I suspect it is really just an easy way for pool shops to get you to...

    Problem With Filter Balls

I also tried Zeolite (Yes I am a sucker for gimmicks it seems) and although it worked okay just like sand (And didn't break my filter like the filter balls) I did not really notice any obvious improvement in water clarity or less need to backwash so in my experience it wasn't as advertised...

    Problem With Filter Balls

Moderator comment: This post was separated out from this thread: Aqualoon Filter Balls Unfortunately my experience has been very bad with this product or rather with an identical product sold by Steinbach in Europe. When used in my filter they worked prior to the first backwash, then at the...

Split by moderator from HERE. Please start your own discussions in your own threads. Thanks, jblizzle Just started looking at these solar copper/silver Ionizers and this particular model by Remington seems to just be a badged Chinese product as you can buy it un-badged on alibaba for a lot lot...

    Bestway Salt water chlorinator hacking

I would guess a lot of people in Europe with a small pool may have picked up one of these low cost SWGs over the past few years. Well I have two and one of the major things that annoys me about these things is that you cannot run it using an external battery backed timer and the built in timer...
