Yep on these challenger pumps they are on the very end. It's flat but covered a bit- so it's the part that gives first. When it does we actually twist the metal a bit. We have the torque but it isn't budging.

I am literally mis-shaping the shaft at the end of the motor. Am I missing something? Going counterclockwise. I have never had something this stubborn and I have worked with some stubborn fasteners.

Was using a channel locks and we can't seem to hold the shaft well enough. I actually think we started to torque the shaft it's on there so bad. Starting to think we are going to have to drill out the impeller. Gah! Think a small motor shop can get it free? Also what happens if the blades get...

Ok so I am trying to remove my old pump and the impeller won't unscrew. Stopping the shaft from moving in the back and have tried to unscrew the impeller and the sucker won't budge. Any tips or ideas?

Yeah I think it is dual voltage. I am fairly certain it is 230w. Going to buy the 230w but am getting the 1hp due to the delay in shipping. Anyone know how to surge protect so this doesn't happen again?

I have a few questions: 1. I only have one skimmer. So when I blow out the pipes I just stick the hose in the skimmer right? 2. So do I add the antifreeze to the returns in the pool? If so wont it spill back into the pool? 3. I have a sand filter, do I need to get anti-freeze in there too...

Ok, so I got a new pool :mrgreen: and I am adding CYA to my pool. My pH used to be at 7.6 but now, after 3lbs of CYA, it looks like it is around 6.9. I am wondering if I need to highten the pH or if the CYA throws my test off. Should I wait to test for a couple of days after I am done...
