CYA...Follow the manual or follow the site?

Confused. I just got an Intex SWG and reading the manual, the ideal water parameters are different than what I see recommended on here. In the manual it say 20-40ppm is ideal and 50ppm is the max. On the site I keep seeing 70-80ppm. Which should I go with?

Need help figuring out what I need to install new sand filter...

Thank goodness because I already ordered them...haha...but that's a relief to know. I think I glanced over them the first time because the threading on both ends threw me. I had to look closer to realize what was actually going on with them. So hopefully they get here early in the week...I found...

Need help figuring out what I need to install new sand filter...

I have an Intex 15' x 48" round pool. Came with the supper crappy 1000gph cartridge filter. I've upgraded to a monster (in comparison) 2900gph sand filter. So anyways, the pool just has the two small holes for the stock filter, doesn't have the wall skimmer. I'm now trying to figure out what I...

    Looking for pump/filter recommedations

Gotcha. But still...in all in one unit with a large pump could still be dangerous I'd think. If on when people are in the pool. Is it ok to turn the pump/filter off when people are swimming? I was also looking at this unit...not as powerful but all in one pump/filter/salt...

Thanks, jblizzle I've read on other sites that bigger can be dangerous...but I assume it's ok to turn the pump off when the pool is in use and...

New pool owner, still confused on getting started....

Well...dosed to 2ppm per the calculator and the kids had a blast for the short time they were in the water. It was getting late and the water was pretty chilly so they didn't last too long. I'll be getting stabilizer and more bleach tomorrow so I can get it setup properly.

New pool owner, still confused on getting started....

Thanks. Yeah, I've been reading the Pool School over and over but still wasn't certain about the initial SLAM/Shock which is sounds like I don't need. Water right now is clear and beautiful...just begging to be swam in. Kids are also drooling but I've not given in to the temptation because I...

New pool owner, still confused on getting started....

Pool is up and filled and pump is running. It's an Intex 15 foot 48" deep round pool holding approximately 4400 gallons of city water. Tested the water and came up with this: FC - 0 pH - 7.8 TA - 120 TH - 200 CYA - 0 So from what I gather these numbers are ok. Now my first question is, do I...
