Partially blocked return to waterfall / Polaris noise

I was able to fix the waterfall by cutting the line behind the outlet and found a mangled gasket from the check valve after the heater/filter.

Partially blocked return to waterfall / Polaris noise

Thanks - I thought about that, but was concerned with the 1/4" slit opening at the waterfall end that I may end up just pushing something further down the line and having it stuck behind the waterfall. I have no idea what could be intriduced into the piping after the filter/heater. I checked...

Partially blocked return to waterfall / Polaris noise

Hi all. Was out of town for a 10 days to find my pool caretaker took less than good care of the pool. They allowed the water to go below the skimmers (luckily was still set to draw from the bottom drain). Managed to get the valves all our of sync in trying to turn on the heater..... Had...

Pool Build - Atlantic County, NJ

I'll see if I can find a plaster pic tonight. I'm glad that we used the plain old white, as it seems to make our BBB water look that much better

    Air in Filter - normal?

Was looking at my filter last night opened the air release valve on top of the unit (while the pump was running) and to my suprise air was forced out for at least 10-15 seconds before any water was released. Did the same thing today and more air released. Is this normal? The pump had been...

    Uh Oh, leaking solar panels

Bummer  I helped a friend plug a few holes in his panels once - not sure of the brand. Anyway, we cut out a few of the smaller tubes and used self tapping hex head screws with rubber washers that came from the mfg. Do you know what brand you have? Seems all mfg's have instructions...

Off to pickup bleach and muratic acid.... Pool contractor told me to stop by their store with a water sample today or tomorrow. May just do it to hear their 'advice' :blah: They have some sort of electronic tester that uses pre-measured vials that seems to interpret the color changes...

Photo of 2" flex pipe connecting to tee at bottom drains. Does anyone else think this may be a problem? Just thinking that this is the worst place to have a leak later on. Either it is joined at an angle or excessive glue has caused the flex pipe to weaken. Thx

Pool Build - Atlantic County, NJ

Wish I would have found this site sooner! Let's see, 1) ditch the Frog - seems I should still add some sort of auto-chlorinator for using tr-chlor pucks when out of town. Suggestions? Maybe a SWG? 2) upgrade the pump to at least a 2-speed or better yet a variable, although seems my...

Pool Build - Atlantic County, NJ

Pump is not 2 speed - I've not found any good info on why these are better - so any advice is appreciated. Amperage ratings between the high/low speeds seem insiginificant. Pool is white plaster, again there is an option for 3M Colorquartz, but I only looked at one pool that used it and it...
