Help! Intelliflo ALARM low voltage then high?

Just opened up the pool. Turned on the breaker and my Intelliflo had an ALARM! and displayed 90000052 (low voltage). Thought it could be a power issue but the electrician checked my panel, my sub panel with the single Siemens breaker in it (QF220A), as well as the mains on the pump itself - 221...

IntelliFLO VSF breaker keeps tripping, brand new circuit, sigh...

So yes, I have Googled this extensively. I have a Cutler & Hammer box which takes Eaton breakers. The pump trips every day at a random time - it does not always correlate with speed change or even weather (I had it stay on during a heavy thunderstorm and go off in the middle of a sunny...

Pentair system, can I go Raypak for heat?

Just want some general advice: I'm in the market for 400BTU gas heater. I have a barely a year old Pentair variable speed pump and IC60 cell. Is there any reason I could go with say the Raypak 406A? I know NOTHING about Raypak but apparently they make very good heaters.

IC-60 reading high salt but Taylor says otherwise

IC-60 green light is flashing meaning high salt. Taylor kit tested several times says I have between 3600-3800 ppm. IC-60 light is green. Was not flashing yesterday all day but all of sudden this morning, it starts flashing. Current ambient is 56 F. I did read this thread (6 years old though)...

Do people drain a lot their SWG pool before opening when they need to SLAM?

Every season, my opening starts with a green sess pool that I have SLAM into submission. Given that CYA levels are far above 40 for a properly seasoned SWG TFP, do folks always drain a lot of water on opening if they need to SLAM? I believe the answer is YES but I don't read a lot about it in...

Any ProTeam Supreme Plus users out there?

I just bought 65 pounds of this stuff (I may need a little more but we'll see). It was not cheap! I read an older post that it can raise TA significantly which I was not expecting. Speculation was Pool Team had a bad mix but nothing conclusive. Currently my numbers are: CYA 30 PH = 7.2 FC =...

My pool is open, it's green, and the numbers are meh.

~35k gallons TF-100: pH 8.2+ (could this be number invalid due to the high chlorine count? it was just the most purple I've ever seen it) FC 25-28/CC 0 (PB dumped chlorine in it and I was surprised the CC is ZERO but it sill surely go up as the chlorine kills the algae) CH 225 TA 40 CYA <20...

When do you recharge your DE filter?

I was under the assumption after every backwash/rinse cycle you should recharge (my filter needs 6 pounds). PB says when the pressure gauge doesn't fall back down after the backwash/rinse cycle, then you know to add DE, i.e. you may go through several backwash/rinse cycles before needing to add...

IC40 vs IC60: I could use a little help here.

I just got off the phone with my pool guy who knows I'm a TFP person (but he manages opening, closing, and installs). Anyway, he is recommending that I stick with the IC40 since the IC60 is overkill. It is true the IC60 will last longer, but without the Intelliflow system, he said the IC40 will...

    TFP SWG Startup Guide

This year I plan to install a Pentair IC-60 for my pool. I've read a lot of threads and obviously the Salt Water Balance page . Aggregating information from various threads, I came up with the following list: Step 1. Balance pool water normally following TFP methodology Please see the Pool...

The PROs and CONs of SWG

My wife and I are thinking about going with a SWG moving forward. I consider myself now very astute with the TFP methodology but I got to be honest, I'm not thrilled with having to dump bleach every 2 days to keep my FC level nominal (we are full sun and typically keep my CYA lower (30-40)). I...

How MORE expensive is your electric bill (thinking about installing a heat pump)?

My wife complains that the water is too cold. Typically in the mid-to-late summer it gets to around 80-82 degrees, sometimes higher. But most of the time it hovers around 78-80. My neighbor and a few colleagues have electric heaters. Gas is NOT an option due to the location of the gas hookup...

Is this true: When FC drops but CC doesn't rise...

...the FC was removed from the pool due to sunlight and/or evaporation not from killing algae or other organics. Is this always true? I ask because I have gone two days straight passing the ONCT but now on my third I see that my FC dropped 1.5 ppm but I have had 0 CC since passing my first ONCT...

Green Algae's behavior at target FC and SLAM?

I'm curious. If you had green algae in the past but don't see any sign of it and are at target FC levels, how does algae grow back? Even more curious, I realize the SLAM procedure is to kill off any algae in the pool, but if you are at target FC levels, won't that slowly kill the algae off...

How much FC is too much for a vinyl liner?

What is (if any) threshold where FC could damage your liner? I mean I see Mustard Yellow shock recommendations at like 30 or higher in some cases where CYA is slightly larger.

    Reuse K2006 reagents for TF-100?

My refill is on order for the TF-100. Is there any chance I can use some of the reagents in the Taylor K-2006 for TF-100 tests? I am in the middle of a SLAM and I am getting dangerously low out of R-0871 for the FC test. Probably not, but I figured I would ask.

    Cleaning concrete?

When I opened up the pool, I noticed that my cover left a few rust stains (?) on my white concrete. Any suggestion on a good cleaner? Anything I can do about it?

If it's not algae, but pollen, does that filter out?

I've have what I believe to be a pollen problem that has carried over from last season. All my numbers look fine, my ONCT last night was 0 loss, 0 CC, water is crystal clear. BUT I sill see what I believe to be pollen accumulating on the floor (brushing just slightly near it has it pop up off...

    How low can CYA go?

I just opened up my pool. It is a green algae cesspool. So I have started to SLAM (as best I can, EDIT: What I mean by that is that I can keep shock levels but I do have to go to work so occasionally it will dip down to below shock and then I will keep it shocked all through the night and most...

When you open, is your pool green?

I have green water with green algae after they guys just came and opened it. They are I think going to SLAM it today. Is this normal or was the pool not closed correctly last year? (based on reading, it seemed like the procedure they used was fine)

Going from sand to DE, anything I should know?

This year I decided to replace our 18 year old sand filter (came with the house when it was built in '97) with a Pentair DE one. I did so after a lot of online research and just the general notion that DE cleans better than sand. I was wondering if anyone has also gone through this process and...

I am so confused about mustard algae...

Here is the story, last night I had the following numbers when I noticed what I thought was yellow algae: FC: 1.5ish TA: 200 CYA: 35ish ph: 8.0 I have 40k gallons. So I vacuumed the pool, brushed everything under the sun (well moon), and then dumped 7 pounds of dry acid in waited an hour or...

(Updated) Pentair Multi-port Valve Leaking from seam (with pics)

Hello Everyone, first post, first time pool owner. I inherited a very nice pool with a Taglus Sand filter that has a Pentair Multiport Valve on top of it. It is leaking from the seam on one side. Here are some pics. The local pool guy came over and replaced the whole top assembly because he...
