Low salt, but it's not really, no apparent chlorine production

Latest test results. So I wintered my pool for the first time this year. Opened the cover that broke to black water and approve approve enough spruce needless to make a new tree. Slammed it following all the rules till I wasn't losing chlorine overnight. However, I don't appear to be...

    Chlorine levels rising

The hardness is an issue every year as far as we could tell. The CYA was lower than recommended, after initial setup, so I added designated stabilizer using the sock, so that brought it up...also 2 of those test days I was teaching teens to use the Taylor tests...and I made notes, a couple tests...

    Chlorine levels rising

I have one of the intex SWG/sand filter combo units. Is the best way to reduce the chlorine a bit just to run the filter less? Will it make a difference if I use the recirculate setting as I'd like it to continue going through my skimmer because I have a tree that's dropping it's spent blossoms...

Coleman Pool W/ Intex Sand Filter (Conversion Questions)

Does it have the two outlets...that have the narrower hoses that then have a T to the big hose for the pump? Ours did, and I never could figure out how to make it work with those and the through wall skimmer. I plugged those narrow outlets, ignoring them, cut for the wall skimmer and then the...

Brand new guy here! Need a shopping list - Pool Pic included

Without the test numbers it's hard to say. I know where I live our water is very alkaline, do muriatic acid is always needed. More than likely granular stabilizer. Experience says, clear water without the CYA will eat chlorine like nobodies business.

New pool after a sad summer without...

Not near as fancy as most, but we rent, so we figure having it at all is lucky. My son built the filter box out of scrap wood from a wheelchair ramp my neighbor gave us. Or old pool broke last summer, so this is a new pool with our old intex saltwater/sand system.

Used TFP for a couple years, but new SWG...testing?

Does the testing change? Is there anything I need to get in addition to my TF 100 kit? It's filling now! But there's snow forecasted for tomorrow. Fooey!

Sad and happy day, New pool decisions

I've had it up several years here. It's fine by them...probably cause I've improved everything else around here. Lol! They've seen it numerous times and commented on how nice and fun it looked.

Sad and happy day, New pool decisions

Our 16'x48" frame pool got a huge hole. I had just put in a new big 2150GPH sand pump with a saltwater system and a Hayward skimmer into our old one. I had planned on buying a bigger pool for next year so bought a pump that big enough. My kids want deeper, so 52" is a must. I'd like either...
