Three-Way Diverter Valves with handle on top of 'Tee'?

Well I Googled the name on the handle of the top Valve and I found that exact Valve. A Discontinued Pentair "Ortega" Valve. There's no way I'm paying $125 for one valve. Just the parts I would need to refurbish the existing valve are as expensive and a brand new Hayward or Jandy 3-way diverter...

Three-Way Diverter Valves with handle on top of 'Tee'?

I need to replace my old diverter valves and am having trouble finding them with the same configuration. Here is a photo of the current ones: Does anyone know if there is a valve I can buy that has a similar layout - one with the handle in top of the 'tee', instead of the side. I can make...

Salt buildup over time with chlorine

To give you a real world example, since draining my pool and starting fresh three years ago, I've used only liquid chlorine and last summer when I took a sample of my water to Leslie's (to see how their test stacked up to mine), their test showed my salt level to be at 1500ppm**, which is well...

My poor doggie has PTSD from the 4th of July fireworks.

Shelley is pretty much back to normal now. Her scabs are still there but she's her same old excited self when i come home from work now. i have noticed one lingering change though. She used to ignore or growl at our cat whenever he came near me (shes the jealous type) but now she seems much...

My poor doggie has PTSD from the 4th of July fireworks.

Good news. X-Rays showed no obvious internal organ trauma. The vet said it looked like she had some muscle tears on her side below her ribs. She got some pain killers and antibiotics and seems to be slowly getting better. She even went with me for a couple of car rides today - her favorite thing...

    BBB and chemical questions

jbeale, To give you an idea just how horrible those test strips are, I just grabbed one I had left over from before I bought a real test kit and tested my water. Here is what the test strips showed for my water, along with the actual measurements taken earlier today with my Taylor K-2005 test...

My poor doggie has PTSD from the 4th of July fireworks.

Unfortunately it looks like she may have been run over/hit by a car. The lacerations on her face look like road rash and her eye is swollen as if she was struck. I'm going to take her to the vet tomorrow. Can't really afford anything except for the office visit and maybe some antibiotics, so I...

My poor doggie has PTSD from the 4th of July fireworks.

Last night we went out to see a fireworks show and of course, we left our dog Shelley inside the house. She seemed in okay spirits when we got home, but before we went to bed she must have been let outside accidentally. For several hours after we got home people on our block were letting off the...

I use the cellulose stuff since getting a new DE filter, so I don't have to worry about DE nastiness. My boys love to hold the hose like a fireman and water the grass. :-D

Funniest/ most ridiculous thing the pool store has told you

Re: Funniest/ most ridiculous thing the pool store has told "Liquid chlorine will cause your total dissolved solids to build up. I'd recommend using that (pointing a bucket of Cal-Hypo) instead." This was after he tested my water, which has a CH level of 390. His test incorrectly showed a 200...

Why does my water look DULL??

Oops. I thought by "aerate" you meant run the pump. Not sure what would cause your test to vary that much overnight. :?:

Why does my water look DULL??

As I found out recently, yes. Doing a test on water that has not been mixed in awhile can give you inaccurate results. See my thread.

    Chlorine settling to the bottom?

Sure enough, a test this morning before heading out for work and I gave me an expected result - 7.0 FC and 0 CC. The overnight pump schedule had been running so the water was mixed.

FC, CC and CYA at 0; added 68% Cal Hypo; FC 0.2 CC 3.0!

I would let the muck settle back to the bottom and then vacuum it out of the pool (preferably to waste) before bothering with chlorine. The muck is just going to continue to eat through your chlorine as you have already seen.
