I like the speed stir because it obviously makes the stirring easier but also because of the built in LED light. I find that I have gotten more consistent results because of the consistent lighting.

What are the test results from your Taylor kit? Which kits did you get? You should confirm the pool store test results with your own testing. You might not have a metals problem.

In Canada the Taylor K-2006 kit is roughly double the price in the US and the TF test kits are not available. Spending the extra money on the speed stir is an even harder sell. I finally broke down and ordered it with my last reagent purchase a few weeks ago. It is totally worth it.
