We did one with a channel drain that I did design for small swimmers. The suction is dispersed through three 2" pipes along the channel and I feel quite comfortable with the setup. The toddlers and our small dog love it and the basin faces our house. Good luck on your project. Cheers. Jaimee

I found one more shot on my phone that doesn't show the shell as much as how the iridescent glass in the plaster compliments the glass tile in the basin. Happy this worked out. A little worried the tile would look like a circus, but it's pretty in the AZ sun.

It just took a year, that's all !!!!!! It's finally done!!!(mostly) Lots of tears, a little bit of blood and buckets of sweat.

The build is still going. Right now we are at tiling stage. Bum bum bummmmm.

I made my own auto fill out of an 8" pipe piece and a toilet float. It is working fine. (I still haven't plastered yet.) But I don't know what fitting to put on the 3/4" pipe inside the pool. A smooth coupler? A filter grate fitting to keep out bugs or debris? Nothing? I need to cut the pipe...
