Bamma, will the IC 15 be overpowerd enough for my 8k pool ?

My Intex cheapee finall died so I need a real SWG for my 8k AGP. I have 2" piping and a 250# sand filter so I'm rigged like a IGP. Which would be a better value a CircuPool RJ20 with a 7 yr warranty for $549 or a Intellichlor IC15 By Pentair for $389 ?

Yes, it disconnects easily, I didn't want the copper blocking the flow and doing nothing and I saved 50 bucks with the 2009 model I'll just have to watchout for power outages :mrgreen:

Got it, I returned the new one and found an 2009 with no copper ionizer for $134 online and free shipping !

I just bought a new Intex SWG and they now come with a copper ion generator also, should I still use it or just disconnect the copper ion gen ?

Thanks for the replys, I think I will just run the pump on high in the solar heat mode to heat the pool and adjust the timer for less runtime, and go back to low mode in summer and winter.

Thanks for the reply, I am in New Orleans and want to start my swim season early, would 1 4x20 surfice or do I need 2 also my pump is 1hp 2 speed, will the low speed work with the panels mounted 14' high ? And I still havn't decided on east or west slope

Thanks Jason, no trees, and building is dead due east/west. I was going with 1 4x20 but now I may go with 2 one on each side of the peak. Also, my pool is an AG but piped with 2" PVC,do the Fafco panels have 2" headers ? as I don't want any loss by smaller pipe

I have a garage next to my pool that has an east/west sloping roof , do I mount solar heater panels on the east side for morning sun or the west for afternoon sun ?

Your pump run-time sounds low You should really consider upgrading the filter and getting a real pump. The Intex pumps are too small and the filters are a joke The good news is the SWG will work well with the new pumpa nd filter and make your pool upkeep eaiser :-D
