UPdate: Yesterday, I went and bought another new Gasket. I followed instructions- using it on BOTH sides as the butterfly gasket- I did not put clear sealant on the gasket itself-but ONLY around the metal sides of pool SO far-seems it sealed- I am letting it set for 24 hours before adding...
