Can you blow out lines with a Shop Vac?

Well i bought the craftsman and it did absolutly nothing. Barely the littlest bubbles came out of even the returns. Just couldnt keep up. Probably a 2HP or more might have done it but im not messing around getting more compressors. I ordered a mighty vac hopefully that works as advertised.

    Need to buy compressor today

The 6.5 HP shop vac didnt touch the main drain at all. It could blow everything else but that. Not even the slightest hint of a bubble came out of the main drain.

    Need to buy compressor today

Do you think that Craftsman is powerful enough to do it? It doesnt even list the HP of that one. My Shop Vac wasnt strong enough so I just want to make sure I get something that can definatly blow out the skimmer and main drain from the pump. Im just worried about the HP because somebody once...

Can you blow out lines with a Shop Vac?

I cant tell when that would be. The shop vac hose blows off because of to much built up pressure with no where to go when i try to blow out the main drain.

PROBLEM! Well I went to close it today. The Shop Vac blew out everything fine except the main drain. I tried from the skimmer and from equipment pad it just didnt have enough power to do it. So now i want to either buy a mighty vac thats made for blowing out the lines. But thats $400. Or...

Can you blow out lines with a Shop Vac?

Well I have a 16x36 inground. One skimmer and two returns and a main drain. Sand filter. I was planning on screwing in the shop vac to the threaded hole in the skimmer (I found a adapter) then putting the filter on recirculate to blow out the lines. Plug up each hole with a rubber plug as...

Can you blow out lines with a Shop Vac?

I have a Craftsman Model 17066 Shop Vac. Its 6.5 HP and has a blower feature that claims it outputs air at 265mph. Would this be ok to use to blow out inground pool lines for the winter? Is it underpowered or maybe even to powerful? I dont want it to damage the pipes. Also if I can use it...

Anyway to keep mesh covered pool from opening badly

Is there a solution to keeping a pool that uses a mesh cover from opening with alot of algae in it. I imagine you cant do anything about dirt etc since thats the nature of the beast but is there something chemically you can do to prevent algae using that style of cover.

    Wiring a Hayward Super Pump

Ok so I was looking at that. The ground wire just gets the green screw screwed down onto it. Then the line one and two get screwed down on their terminals. Do they get wraped around the little prongs there also? How do you know what is line one and what is line two?

    Wiring a Hayward Super Pump

I dont have the money to have someone come and put it in. I wish there was better instructions with the pump.

    Wiring a Hayward Super Pump

Is this easy to do? The wires are disconnected from the old pump already. Theres no wiring diagram with the pump. Its the 220 or 230 wiring whatever the pump comes stock to operate at so its just a matter of connecting the wires. It mentions grounding and bonding the ground wire. is this...

Rubber piece at top of liner coming out

Its a 16x32 inground with a beaded liner. A pool store mention it might be some loc n' roll coming out. But this looks slightly different then loc n' roll does.

Rubber piece at top of liner coming out

I noticed today that there are rubber thin strips that go all the way around the pool right at the top of the liner. Im guessing this helps hold it in place. Well at certain spots this strip is coming out. What is a easy way to get these to set back in? Just pushing them didnt seem to make...

How to get wet sand out of filter??

Thanks a lot for the replies! So I saw a 6.5 peak HP 16 gallon craftsman wet/dry vac at sears for about $100. Is that enough power for the job? The pool store told me wet sand is almost impossible to get out without hand scooping all of it.

Can you use Lithium shock or non-chlor shock to switch?

Thanks for the help. I was hoping to use the Litho cause its easier then getting all this bleach. That calculator says i would need 7lbs. of Litho shock to raise to 15ppm chlorine. Where as itd take like 5 gallons of the bleach. 7lbs of Litho to reach 15ppm seems high to me. But im not expert.

Can you use Lithium shock or non-chlor shock to switch?

thanks for that. Is there a calculator to tell how much bleach you need based on what your baquacil reading is? Pool is 22,000 gal and baqucil level is at 25.

Can you use Lithium shock or non-chlor shock to switch?

I get lost in the whole bleach being cheaper thing. If your typical one pound bag of lithium shock is 35% available chlorine, wouldnt it take over 5 times the amount of bleach to get that same chlorine amount? Like if in a situation where you might need 20 gallons of bleach to do the job...

Can you use Lithium shock or non-chlor shock to switch?

Ok so non chlor is a no go. As far as litho, I only thought that because using all that cal hypo would make me worry about the calcium level. How much do you typically need on a average case? 24lbs?

Can you use Lithium shock or non-chlor shock to switch?

Ive read everything about using Bleach and thats fine. I just would like to know if you can use lithium shock or non-chlor shock to switch from Baquacil to chlorine. If so, which of those would be the best way to go. Thanks!
