Through Wall Skimmer for Intex Ultra Frame

I have a combination of one of the bottom drains converted to a return along with the skimmer and pump discharge routed to two of the factory holes in the sidewall. Cutting them out and converting the fittings can be found here: Useful Links for Fellow Intex Pool Owners ,hope this helps.

Through Wall Skimmer for Intex Ultra Frame

Yesterday I installed a Wide Mouth skimmer on my new Intex 16 X 32 Ultra Frame and made the mistake of centering the skimmer over a vertical seam. Realized what I had done as I was cutting out the skimmer opening. I brought the pool water level up and sure enough the skimmer is leaking. Now...

    Foam Bottom questions

Used the 3/4" extruded foam sheets from Lowes around $15/sheet. For 16'x32' pool I needed 16 sheets. Worth the price!

    Time for a through-the-wall skimmer

I second what POPPA S said in that you won't regret installing the skimmer. I have had several AG pools and this is my first with the skimmer installed which does a great job at clearing debris. I also use a solar cover frequently and the skimming is reduced but once the cover is rolled up the...

    New Install - Intex Ultra Frame 32' x 16' x 52" AG Pool

Correct, using a 32' x 16' layout. Just keep in mind that the braces are 20" wide and you will need to determine where the center of your pad will be. If you are using a 16" pad as I did you would need to start the edge of the first board on the long side at 29" and the short side at 25".

From the corner to the edge of the first brace on the long side is 27", 45" between the braces measured at the centerline. From the corner to the edge of the first brace on the short side is 23", 42" between the braces measured at the centerline The support braces are 20" wide outside edge to...

Additional dimensions that may help with the layout preparing for installation... The insulation base is 32' x 16'. The support legs around the pool extend 7" out from the insulation pad. The centerline distance between the long side supports is 45" The centerline distance between the short...

    Foam vs sand?

I used the 3/4" blue extruded polystyrene as did many others on TFP. The expanded type would likely be too soft.

    New Install - Intex Ultra Frame 32' x 16' x 52" AG Pool

Thanks for the comments CeeElGee and laceygirl. Over the past 10 years we started with the Intex blow up ring pool which lasted a season as the kiddos were young. Upgraded to a Intex 15 ft round pool which lasted about 3 yrs and would have made it longer but it was setup with only the supplied...

    New Install - Intex Ultra Frame 32' x 16' x 52" AG Pool

Treated 2" x 16" x 16" (2x8s connected with clips) boards over the concrete pads. I had to dig out to move the blocks against the insulation. Initially I used the Intex dimensions but the legs were only a couple of inches on the blocks. During this dig I recalled reading on this site about...
