I added the DE about a week after I installed the new multiport. I actually have 2 gauges on this and they're both equal. I just took the impeller apart and found nothing in there. I used an air compressor and blew the lines all out, so that tells me their clear. I do notice a couple of drips...

Brand new gauge so I guess I'll take the impeller apart and take a look. I do add the DE fast but I thought it would still not clog the impeller. That stuff is so fine I'd of thought that it would just flow through. We'll see in a few minutes.

My "clean" pressure sits at 10 psi. When I add DE, it drops to 6. After a hour of filtering, it'll drop some more and more. I thought that when you added DE, the pressure would rise. Could my pump have issues also?

How can you tell if it needs replacement? I took mine apart and it looks to be ok, just trying to rule out that it's not leaking sand back into the pool. Thanks

Yup, sure did. I probably went over half filling it with water. I didn't want all that dry silica flying around. Since I was not so bright on backwashing, what are my options now? Also, why would sand come out when I put it in rinse mode?
